Underspace, Subspace corridor, Transwarp conduit, Subspace vortex

Hello, I would welcome some help in either proving or disproving a theory that has been forming in my mind by strong arguments.

I would propose that we ignore/do not look too close into the visual effects.

I propose that Underspace (VOY "Dragon's Teeth"), Subspace corridor (ENT "E2"), and Transwarp conduit (VOY "Endgame") are the same thing.

While the Subspace vortex (ENT "The Shipment", "Stratagem") and Transwarp conduit (TNG "Descent", VOY "Dark Frontier") are derived technologies from the earlier mentioned. That use technological supplements to emulate a natural phenomenon.

They have already sd n Voyager that Transwarp and Slipstream are *practically* the same thing.

And we know that Subspace (and probably Hyperspace or Superspace) have different "Domains"...so all these (seemingly) different methods of travel may be way of entering these slightly different "domains" of Subspace.

It may be that in the future starships will have multiple methods of entering FTL (since in some regions warp drive may not work do to damage to subspace - and you don't want to get stuck - and in others, we know that warp drive can damage subspace.)

In fact, I am sort of looking at the new technologies that we saw in later DS9 and Voyager (and even Enterprise - like that automated repair station that seemed to use replicators and transporters to beam new hull sections into place - and thought about a ship like the Prometheus that have holographic emitters everywhere...and holodecks use primitive replicators (but I think they can make food) and replicators use primitive transporters - but upgrade them to the kind that can make matter that can hold together *outside of the holodeck*, and you'd have self-healing starships)....BUT, the "Coaxial Warp Drive (Space Fold) we saw work successfully and then never heard about again) got me thinking that future starships might have - I call them "Multi-Axial Warp Drives which could be easily re-configured on the fly - and work with the navigational deflector to ke the right particle stream) to generate different kinds of warp - like slipstream, or transwarp, regular "enhanced warp" (like the doomed duplicate Voyager crew discovered) or subspace corridors...Xindi Vortexes...to someday even space-folds ("Coaxial Warp"), wormholes (even relatively short range ones) and the future Temporal Warp Drive that we saw on the "USS Relativity"...

Again, the advantage of having so many ways of entering warp are if subspace conditions don't allow certain kinds of FTL travel (who wants to be trapped light-years from the nearest system with a broken or *jammed* subspace radio - or they wall damage subspace - or an enemy finds a way to suppress one kind of warp, you have another...

(Same for communication, weapons, shielding...adaptability and flexibility can be the key to survival...)

Why did you list transwarp conduit twice?

I used the Memory Alpha article for naming.

A correction Transwarp conduit in "Descent" should belong to the first type.

The main difference I can see is that type I does not require any extra technology.
But to use type II a transwarp coil.

La Forge mentions in "Schisms" that subspace is like "a huge honeycomb with an infinite number of cells", so the reason you're seeing different kinds of subspace travel and phenomena is likely due to the different types of subspace realm that they're interacting with. Even Voyager mentioned subspace having different layers, which included wormholes, some of which were monitored by the Borg.
