Since the character of Lt. Ellis has yet to be cast, I personally would love to see Allison Mack in the role, though I highly doubt that she'd be in contention for the part. That aside, I think she'd be great as Ellis, with or without the purple wig. She could certainly be in charge of my moonbase!

As a long time fan of Gerry Anderson's work..(Supercar/Fireball XL5 and Stingray were much of my childhood viewing as a wee lad) I am looking forward to seeing this film..

As long as the concepts are true to the original, and the themes as adult based..it will be good..

How in the world are they ever going to be able to create the futuristic world of 1980 in 2010?

(Personally I loved the show when it aired in the U.S. on CBS back in 1972 - I was 9).

Time has passed! I would guess they'd just keep it "ten years in the future" like the show.

I remember reading recently that the plan is to have it set in 2020, still keeping it ahead ten years as Forbin noted.

Like you, I loved it back when it aired here in the U.S. - I was twelve and thought the concept really rocked.
