U.S.S. Justice - TMP Era Ship Blueprint Design

Hello everyone!
I am new to this forum and have been a long time Star Trek fan, I would say since I was 4 years old. I have watched all of the series, even my high school marching band director wrote a couple of episodes of DS9 My background is very rich in the Star Trek universe and so I saw how others where making their own schematics of ships that they designed themselves, so being a Graphic Artist, I couldn't help myself and now I am working on TMP and TNG ship designs

Here is a ship I whipped up in Photoshop. It's called the U.S.S. Infinity, it was the U.S.S. Justice, but I don't want to trend on established ship designs and/or names It's a carrier for shuttlecraft/fighters. If you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to post em!

Too small to be a carrier. Adding more shuttle bay doors without the room to store said shuttles/fighters is a problem.

Your ship looks great Tom I renamed it the U.S.S. Infinity Thanks for your feedback Sojourner! Would I have to make the secondary hull bigger? Also, how do you go about coming up with names for ships? Is it based off of history, personal preference, class names, or just imagination?

It really isn't.

Apart from the model's severe segmentation all over the place and the lack of any surfacing whatsoever, the (very flat and boring) lighting doesn't even match the background image.

I agree, not a very good render. I quickly rendered it for storyboarding purposes, to get an idea of the shot we were looking for. This render is many, many years old. However its the first pic that came up when I did a quick search.
