Okay... I figured I would post this here, and see if anyone would like to collaborate with me on this...
As some of you may know who have seen the threads here on the U.S.S. Gemini, which is a Surya-Class ship from a fanfic I'm developing, you know that one problem about the "TOS Miranda" type of ship, is that there are many fan versions out there, and as such, there is no set-in-stone reliable set of plans for this kind of ship, and indeed, the Gemini herself deviates a bit from the FASA Surya-Class, because there are just some aspects of the Surya design that were not that well thought out. The only reason I still call it a Surya, and not a Coventry or even Miranda, is because I simply can't think of another class name yet.
Anyway... I REALLY want to try and flesh the "TOS Miranda" type of ship out in a way that can rationalize the ship, and make it make sense. To that end, after seeing Shaw's wonderful and amazing (albeit closed) thread on the 1701 deckplans... seeing just how small the 1701's bridge INTERIOR was, in relation to the bridge dome itself REALLY put the scale of starships into perspective for me... I used to think the Gemini would be a very small ship, with little to no room for much engineering space, let alone 2 shuttlebays. I see now how wrong I was about that.
But... I need help in developing a sensible internal layout for the Gemini... something that would be able to utilize the interior space of the Surya-Class form, in a way that makes practical sense. So, I'm wondering if anyone here would be willing to brainstorm with me on this to any degree? Note that I am NOT asking for any form of 3D work to be done... that's not what I'm really after, and it would be a LOT to ask of someone. But I would eventually like to render a nice high-res set of deckplans in Adobe Illustrator myself, based on whatever we/I come up with, so anyone who is willing to do some 2D sketches of layout or something would be a huge help.
