Hey guys, I'm a frequent visitor to this site, and figured i'd go ahead and start throwing some of my ideas out there.

This is my attempt at a ship that was inspired by the new trek movie.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions/criticism/tips are welcome

The first thing that jumps out at me is that the nacelles are very skinny, and missing the slight taper that characterize the Kelvin-style nacelle. The edge of the saucer may also be too thin. But otherwise, it looks pretty good, especially given the limited reference.

Good start! I will agree with Gep, the saucer is too thin. It throws off the scale of the ship.

Okay, I decided I needed to just start over on this little project, and here's where i am so far after tonight.

I Kinda strayed away from the way the one in the movie looks, i didn't know whether or not i liked the cut off back, so I'm trying this out first.

I still have a lot of detail to add into it. The engines are not finished yet, But what's everyone's impression so far? I'm liking this one much better than the previous version. Thanks for the feedback

(Also I'm going to make up a WIP image to go on the background, it's kinda bland with just the blue back there, lol.)

Overall I think it's a big improvement.

Are you going for a ship that fits into the JJVerse or a jjverse style ship for the prime universe?
I'm asking because, to my eye the warp engines still seem small for the JJVerse; but for the prime universe I think they are about right.

Thanks, I'm honestly not sure what universe I'm shooting for. In the beginning i was going to just model the one ship we see in the scene where they are all heading to Vulcan, But as i kept going, i decided i wanted to make it my own, and so far this is what's come out of it. I'm thinking of leaning towards making this a new movie style in the end.

By small are we talking length/width/ both? I'm not quite sure what you mean.

the diameter; Take a look at the Kelvin; the nacelles are at least as big around then engineering hull. -frank

Just use a hard return after each image (as I did above) and they won't stretch the page. Looking very good by the way!

I like, I think it would look better if the middle nacelle was just a bit lower, it looks too even with the outboard ones. Just my opine...
