Type-15 Shuttlepod filming miniature. Where is it?

Greetings,

I am working on a full scale replica of the Type-15 Shuttlepod mock-up from TNG.

Full story on The Replica Prop Forum.

I am looking for the current location of the filming miniature of the Type-15 shuttlepod featured in ST-TNG. I would like to get some hi-resolution images to use as reference material for details not easily seen on screen. Areas of interest include details of the underside and how the nacelles are attached to the fuselage. The only two on-screen appearances of these areas were in "Time Squared" and "The Minds Eye" and details were limited.

To the best of my knowledge the original full size prop no longer exists. I consider this miniature to be the current cannon for external details of the shuttlepod.

I know this model has been traveling around with different Star Trek exhibits. I had hoped it would be at the exhibit in Philadelphia I attended a few years ago but it was not.

I have found some pic's on the web at various locations, but the current location is not given.

According to startrektheexhibition.com there is currently an exhibit at The Mall of America in Bloomington, MN

Can anyone confirm if the filming miniature is on display there and if so, possibly take some high resolution pictures?

If not at the Mall of America, can anyone identify the current location of this miniature?

Thanks.

The word on the web is that the miniature is still owned by Paramount Studios and has not gone into the hands of any private collectors.

Anyone know who I can contact at Paramount Studios?

Just give their front office a call and asked to be transferred to props. I did this many years ago back in the early 90's (although asked for costuming dept.) when I was looking to acquire a TWOK-era uniform. Needless to say, their stuff was not for sale, but they were very nice from start to finish and, if they do still have it on-hand, you might be able to at least schedule some time to take some extensive reference photos of the item in question.

I did the same thing looking for old Colonial banners and flags at Universal from the TOS Battlestar Galactica series. Unfortunately, they had no idea what I was asking about, but still quite friendly and willing to answer any questions about their props and costumes.

I almost get the impression that they welcome interactions with the outside world like that, almost like they're really lonely being stuck in massive studio warehouses with nobody to talk to. Can't blame them, really...
