That’s what I was thinking. The Kamelion tributes weren’t there last time I was down that way. Extra irony as the Black Rose would be a few doors down, by the Tardis.
It's really good up until the last episode where they make a very bad decision. Spoiler: Spoiler They decide to tie their fictional 2020 into the real 2020 that we all lived through and it's all gets a bit tasteless.
I think BF had to attempt the thing in the spoiler box given some decisions they’d made beforehand, but they did a pretty uninspired job of approaching that premise.
You know nothing! Like the rest of us! So instead of dooming and glooming, give it a sec and let the announcements to come tell us what it's about. Don't you Chibnall fans always say this? "Wait until we hear/see more?" Follow your own advice.
I'm just getting more and more excited for this. The Rose Temple-Noble theory is starting to make a lot more sense, though I'm still unclear how it connects with the Fourteenth Doctor. Maybe she's going to fulfill the role of his companion for this story?
So maybe Rose kept some of the time vortex energy from her Bad Wolf stint and regenerated? I mean, if being conceived in the time vortex is enough to "make" a Timelord, taking the vortex internally should be enough for one regen.
I don't need to 'wait and see' because my concerns have already been validated. See the following: https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/doctor-who-yasmin-finney-rose-cast-newsupdate/#search-popup No mention whatsoever of Ncuti, just David Tennant and Catherine Tate.
It'd be interesting if Jodie regenerates into David Tennant (replaying the old favorites) before finally changing into Ncuti. Maybe sort of a play on Romana sifting through bodies too.
That's my guess too. Get the big anniversary call backs out the way before Ncuti takes over full time. Chibnall: "Russell, it's only right that you write the last lines of the special to usher in the new era." *Doctor: "What? What?! WHAT?!"* RTD: "Done."
I mean it's fun to see old cast members back but the big question is "Why?" I mean I enjoy the nostalgia trip but they're not going to be staying long term Why spend time giving David a new costume and dragging out 93 year old Bernard Cribbens for possibly one or two specials? The resources could have been spent on Ncuti specials/ building up the new doctor before the next season. It's just starting to sink in that none of this is permanent and Tennant will regenerate again but this time it will feel hollower than last time
The original casting call for Finney’s character (then named or codenamed Lily) said she was 15 years old, which is roughly consistent with where Donna’s daughter would be.
The room isn't built yet and you're judging the oxygen supply. You can't preemptively say someone has been overshadowed until you know where they're standing, where the light is, etcetera. And by "you can't" I am aware you THINK you can, but you really can't. You're like a Mirror Orville.
It should be pointed out that someone on Reddit apparently knew all of this two weeks ago and everything that's been revealed so far seems to confirm their info: https://www.reddit.com/r/doctorwho/...tually_regenerates_discuss/i7a5x51/?context=3
Ncuti and Yasmin are going to be bringing in a hell of a lot of viewers who've never watched an episode of Doctor Who before, so getting the nostalgia stuff out the way first with Tennant & Co and then having a clean slate for new adventures is the best way to do it.
I'd love to have been in the room when Russell said to the BBC, "Now, the first thing I'm going to do is pick up right where I left off 14 years ago."
