Torchwood S2 is $51.99 & Doctor Who S4 is $64.99.
That's 35% off what they had as the list prices for these sets.
But seriously, $99.98 list for DW S4?
Just an over-inflated number to make the $64.99 look better, no doubt.
Sarah Jane Adventures S1 for $34.99 too.

The prices for the Who dvds is flipping ridiculous. I mean, for God's Sake! I have many people I would love to buy these for, but there is no way in hell I'm paying that much for ANY dvd--let alone for something that is still being rerun to death on BBCAmerica.

I always thought prices for Star Trek DVD sets were bad, and I still do, but they're a frickin' bargain even at $500+ for 7 seasons of Voyager (probably cheaper now, but I haven't looked lately).
But these "discounted" prices are pretty close to what I paid for the previous sets, I just don't remember the $100 normal price for DW S1,2,3.

I wish the Star Trek's had commentaries for every episode.

Sadly Torchwood 2 doesn't have any either.

Agreed. At this point, Star Trek sets tend to run at least $20 cheaper than Doctor Who and the Star Trek sets average nearly twice as many episodes.

P.S. Is there a Mt. Vesuvius story in Doctor Who Season 4. I recently got a BBC America catalog and the entry for Doctor Who Seasons 1-3 lists Mt. Vesuvius as one of the Doctor's adventures along side saving Queen Victoria from a werewolf ("Tooth & Claw") and meeting Shakespeare ("The Shakespeare Code"). I don't remember a Mt. Vesuvius story in Seasons 1-3. I was wondering if maybe it was actually in Season 4 and they just got confused or what. (The ad also mentions 3 Christmas specials when there were only 2. Maybe they were counting that 5-minute "Children in Need" sketch from 2005 but I don't think that should count next to proper Christmas specials like "The Christmas Invasion" & "The Runaway Bride.")

^ The Fires Of Pompeii was the episode.
^^ I'm not so much for the commentaries, I've never listened to them on any DVD I own, even though I've heard good things about some of them. The only extras I hope for are deleted scenes. Or better yet, extended episodes with the deleted scenes inserted into them. Assuming they have completed FX and audio.

Fires of Pompeii is a 4th season episode and there are 3 christmas specials, Christmas Invasion, Runaway Bride and Voyage of the Damned.

I hate how Doctor Who DVDs are so expensive, but luckily for me it seems like every time the new season comes out my parents need ideas for birthday/Christmas gifts. I believe this Christmas will be a very Doctor Whoish Christmas. :techman:

^It's likely the person who made that part of the catalog didn't know much about Doctor Who and accidentally inserted a description for a season 4 episode.

Sadly, that is the actual price stores such as Borders and Best Buy will be selling it for. At least, that's been their pricing history for seasons 1-3. Needless to say, I purchase my Who DVDs through amazon.
