Has anyone ever watched shows on www.TVCatchup.com? I think it is British (all the stations on it are)... is it just like www.hulu.com? I'm just curious to see if it works in America.

Nope. Try to sign up and it tells you it's only available in the UK.
It's not like Hulu. It shows live streams of the free to air channels in the UK. I'd say SeeSaw is more similar to Hulu I would think. But I don't think you can get that in the US either, without the use of a proxy or VPN.
The networks over here tend to have their own catch up services too. iPlayer for BBC's stable of channels, I think only the radio stations work in other countries though. ITV Player for ITV stable of channels. 4oD for Channel 4's stable of channels and Demand Five for Five's channels.
SeeSaw has a lot of 4oD and Demand Five, it also has some archive shows from BBC and ITV. There's also some Channel 4 and Five shows on YouTube and various others on MSN Player. Again, I don't think any of these are available outside the UK.
