TV Spot 1

Like extra seen with Chirs Pike as Kirk running around in the ship, a longer version than in the trailer. I can not remember the other two or three new clips (I think another one of more space scenes, it went fast), it was on during Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Just looking again at the one linked above by MicahBrack, I don't see anything which wasn't in the full trailer, though the editing may not be quite as frenetic.

Towards the end, none of that is new? Or is that the editing you are talking about?

Nope, it's all the same... However I think that the score is a little tweaked... but the scenes are all the same. nothing new.

Ok, guess on tv it looked different

There's something about it that just reeks of desperation. :shifty:

Just a few months ago, people were saying Paramount must have been "too scared" to show footage at ComicCon because they knew they had a flop on their hands. Now they finally reveal something for TV and they're "desperate"? :wtf:

You just can't win with these people....

Seems like only yesterday.....

"Is Paramount even going to promote this film to get Joe 6-pack into the theaters, it's not like they know the film's release date has changed."

I was willing to wait and see just how much Paramount was going to push this film, I mean really, $150 mill, you should KNOW that they were going to push it, and push it HARD, MONTHS in advance.

Just you wait, I bet you they'll buy ad time during The Super Bowl.

* Seriously, did anyone think Paramount would wait 'till the 11th hour ? *

I saw this last night while watching TSCC and was quite surprised by it. Wasn't expecting to see it on TV. First viewing impression was that they just removed the whole " 'Vette chase sequence" and there might have been other editing changes. I've got it recorded on my DVR (was recording TSCC in HD when it was on) and will check it our in further detail tonight. My wife thought it looked pretty cool, and she's not really a Trek fan.

It doesn't matter the franchise, almost every summer tentpole gets a Superbowl spot, Trek will.
Especialy releasing in May in Iron Man's slot. And agreed on pleasing the non-fans of this board.

The TV Spot

Rumour has it that the TV spot for the new Star Trek movie has been shown during both The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe.

Have you seen it? Where did you see it, when, what program?

Anyone else in the room with you, what did they think?

:bolian:

Re: The TV Spot

Saw it during T:SCC. I think it was basically the trailer we've all seen, minus the business with Young Kirk, the Car, and the Cop.

Re: The TV Spot

Nope, havnt caught it. :(

Shame, becasue i have 48 inches to fill with new ' Space adventure Trek'.

Ill look tonight, might be able to catch it.

There are a couple of threads around here on that. Merging... hold on...

I can't do a side-by-side comparison at the moment, but I'm about 75% sure there was maybe 1 second total of "new" footage in the TV spot. A couple of shots of the Enterprise with explodey stuff seemed like I hadn't seen it before (and I saw that original trailer probably 20 times). Is there anyone willing to really dig in and maybe see if I'm not just totally wrong? I coulda sworn there were at least 2-3 new shots.

This is just to let everyone know. A TV Spot for Trek XI just airred during TSCC.

Saw it myself.

Isn't advertising for a movie 6 months before it comes to theaters a little premature?

I'm not so sure about desperation, but it does seem a wee bit strange... after all, it's not like any of us can plan to go and actually watch it anytime soon.
