Wow, ABC is just pathetic...again. Whatever genius thought programming three brand new shows on the same night last year was an idiot. Whoever thought keeping that lineup intact this year is an even bigger idiot. If a show is going to fail, it's gonna fail. But at least protect it a little bit to allow an audience to form.

Worst. Programming. Ever.

Private Practice really should have aired out of Grey's in its first season. Not doing that--and therefore not creating a block of TV people who like those shows (like me! ;) ) could easily watch really hurt PP I think. That and the fact that it's not a good show of course. ;) But I feel like people would have been much more patient with it had it aired out of Grey's, if for no other reason than that they can be lazy about changing the channel.

^ ABC expected people would follow Private Practice because it was the Grey's spinoff and that they could get a foothold on another night than just Thursdays. I do think it's been somewhat of a success because ABC has already announce it as being picked up for a full second season.

Just cuz PP got a full second season order doesn't mean ABC still can't cancel it at the end of S2. There's not way a new night of programming is going to be anchored with 7.73 million people watching. PP can't do it now.

ABC can't, and won't cancel everything, and they have far bigger problems than Private Practice, which is looking respectable by comparison to the likes of Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money amongst others.

Well I don't understand the line up.

PD, then PP, then DSM. Is that not the worst line up ever? Cute show, a doctor soup, and then a political soup? PP, Grey's and DSM should be on Thursday. Then Wednesday should be Ugly Betty, PD, then Life on Mars.

Agreed. I've said this a bunch of times now, but they really should have put PP together with Grey's. There is a much better chance of it getting an audience that way, because the potential audience for PP is a subset of the audience for Grey's.

As for it's quality - I love Kate Walsh and her character. But the rest of them are sorta 'Meh'. Well...okay, Tim Daly's character isn't so 'Meh' either. And I do like the character of the Chief at the hospital - can't remember her name. But the rest of them are definitely 'Meh'.

But I keep watching for Kate...and also for the vague hope that one day they might do a crossover and I'll get to see another whole hour of Patrick Dempsey.

Winners...
World Series, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY and Barack Obama Political Message

Worth A Mention...
Deal or No Deal

Decent...
Next Top Model

On The Edge...
Private Practice

Losers...
Old Christine, Lipstick Jungle, Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money and Stylista

Round-Up....

Starting with ABC, I do think its curtians for PD but since they have nothing decent to replace it with yet I think it will still last the full season unless ABC decide to try something else in its slot. Private Practice barely makes it off the losers list due to a decent demo but anymore of a drop and I won't be so kind and Dirty Sexy Money is well and truly finish and another sign that BL is more important to ABC than they realise. ABC need to put PP at 10pm on thursdays and move LOST & Life on Mars to wednesday 9-11pm when midseason returns.

CBS comedy lineup still does not convince me at all and Old Christine is on the road to being canned unless its moved back to Monday Night. Its interesting that the comedy line up and last season's Kid Nation were all down compared to Jericho at the same point, 2 years ago in the season by at least 3 million viewers.

I fear that due to the break, KR will lost steam and drop under 7 million next week but we shall see but what we do know is that Deal or No Deal's demo clearly shows the hype is over for that so called quiz show. Lipstick Jungle won't be saved by the friday night move especially if that move is 10pm, NBC grow a brain.

CW started well with Top Model though it was below the season average however like usual the 2nd show of the night wastes the lead in because quite simple there total trash. CW had Monday & Thursday sorted but if they want another night sorted then I would put Top Model and 90120 together as well especially if 90120 airs out of Top Model.

You have to think even though Christine is bringing in fewer viewers than Jericho in the same time slot, it costs a whole lot less to produce and thus is an easier "renewal" or "keep" for CBS. And really, CBS is in the catbird position, being at the top of the ratings with the ability to give some shows more of a chance than another network would.
