Can we call NOF officially dead now?

Yeah I've been worried about Detroit 1-8-7 and didn't realize NOF had gotten so bad too. Presumably they'll both be cancelled. I'll miss D187, and while I watch NOF, can't say I'll miss it.

I think these TV execs should hire me as to what shows to greenlight and when I say I like something, they should NOT put it on the air. Because if I like it, apparently nobody else is going to. :(

I don't see Ordinary Family getting renewed. Too bad I actually enjoy it as light fluff. And with Running Wilde DOA I must hope that Raising Hope gets renewed. I don't love it but I must admit the last new episode "Blue Dots" was pretty funny!

^ ABC need a comedy drama at 10pm to suit the night's theme and I would put Brothers & Sisters there.

9,37m might be considered decent for The Defenders, but looking at the retention out of Criminal Minds, and a 1.9 in the demo, those are much less impressive!

Anything less than 10 million on CBS is bad, unless it's Friday.

So in other words, it's The Defenders misfortune that they got plugged into the Weds night lineup. Because I'm guessing the people who watch it on Weds, would still watch it on Friday.

I'm sorry, but I just think the way they do stuff is just so retarded. These many viewers on one night is bad, but another night it's okay. So instead of moving to that other night to see if the viewers follow, we'll just kill it all together. But whatever, I'll enjoy it for however many episodes we have left.

^ That's how CBS killed Shark. Big hit on Thursday, move it to Sunday, doesn't do as well on Sunday, so it's suddenly a massive failure and is canceled.

I guess Selleck got lucky that his show got put on Fridays because it's not exactly setting the world on fire either.

What I'm saying is, that's it's numbers are very similar to The Defenders but because Blue Bloods is on Friday night, well that's okay. It just kind of seems like it's the "luck of the draw" based on where CBS schedules you. Friday nights, well you can skate by on the less than stellar ratings. But if you draw Weds night, "OMG, off with their heads!"

I don't know that I really buy this theory about "retention of audience (It's not 1950 anymore, people have remotes and WAY more than 2-3 channels to choose from) but for the sake argument, I'll stipulate it's plausible. In that light, what f'ing brain surgeon paired Criminal Minds, a fairly heavy and often depressing drama, with a light hearted almost borderline comedic show like The Defenders? Well DUH!, of course it going to be a different audience. Maybe they should have put it some place like, oh I don't know, say MONDAY NIGHT which is full of comedies.

I think CSI NY and The Defenders will be switching in midseason after Survivor and Medium are over and CM: Suspect Behavior premieres.
