All of the endless number of repeats the CW airs every week, why the hell do they choose to air an original episode of a show on the same night as IDOL when the FOX megahit's biggest demo is 18-34, the exact same demo the CW want and only cares about.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Wow, that Reaper figure is just a disgrace. They wouldn't even get a cable channel to pick it up for the built in audience, cause it doesn't have one.

Reaper doesn't have a prayer. It was off the air forever, and there was no advertising outside of the CW's low rated shows. The network isn't invested in it. It's not teen trash soap opera for girls. Then it premieres against Idol in the springtime. Idol plus local basketball preemptions. That number is actually higher than the final ratings last week. After the preemptions were sifted out, it was only about 2.07 million viewers total. This week the final is about 2.1 million and change. The demos are still under 1.0, though.

Smallville and Supernatural are going to get hit with local preemptions, too, tomorrow night. Smallville's preempted in Oklahoma City, but luckily Supernatural's still scheduled because the game should be over by 8 p.m. Oklahoma/Oklahoma State post conference basketball tournament. I'm pretty sure Memphis will be preempted for both tomorrow night. The CW sucks that way. It's not a real network so the local affiliates will always choose sports.

I fear to see what Scrubs' rating is on its return next week... haven't they been off the air a month? And they'll be on a different night and timeslot.

this has to be Scrubs final series, at this point I wouldn't even suggest a spin-off

Scrubs is one of those long running shows, that despite low ratings, and having had there day, network TV just refuses to cancel.

How does ABC afford to air Scrubs? The cast salaries in its what--seventh season?--must be exorbitant.

8th season and the show befofe this year always hit a good demo and DVD plus international ratings made it profitable for ABC who always produced Scrubs...

There was a rumor of Scrubs Intern spinoff because of several web episodes but I think thats dead now. Ratings or not Scrubs is funny and getting 8 seasons for a low rated show from season 5-8 makes up for all the former shows of mine that got cancelled wrongly ;)

Reaper doesn't have a prayer.
When Daddy is the Devil, who needs prayer?

As badly as Reaper premiered last Tuesday, if it can hold those ratings, and it has the advantage of airing without repeats this spring, its premiere ratings were above average for the CW and it stands a good chance of being renewed.
This ought to be an interesting test of Renew/Cancel guy's predictive powers. One weakness is that I don't believe he calculates the 18-34 figures.

Yeah, the 18-34 is what the CW looks at. Also how many women are watching. Reaper, unfortunately, skews male. The CW isn't interested in male programming. That's why it dumped wrestling, even though it brought in the highest ratings on the network.

Reaper is the sort of show that would be perfect for cable, if CW had not already wasted 2 seasons.

Hey... let's show Scrubs... and then reruns of Scrubs when we run out of new episodes in a month for another month!!!

So, Dorian -- What do you really think about the CW?

I hate pre-empted TV due to sports. When I was a kid, back when there were only 4 channels (NBC, ABC, CBS, and PBS), it totally sucked when the only thing worth watching was pre-empted by some stupid baseball game. These days, sports fans get pissed when I tell them that shit belongs on its own channel *on cable*.

Now, now, we'd have never seen the search for the next pussycat doll if it weren't for CW. :alienblush: Or the formation of the girl group, "Girlicious" with all its twists and turns. God bless the CW.

I hear there's going to be a Gossip Girl spinoff next fall.:bolian: :D
