But I thought Fox was trying to kill it off last year with the death time slot. So I have no clue what Fox wants.

For me there are several things that will determine Fringe's fate but its clear the 5/6 year length that J.J hinted about is never going to happen. If Fringe gets a 4th then it will be the last no doubt and it should due to the critical reception alone even FOX execs say its dam good TV.

The Bones Spinoff and Chicago Code will determine the fate of Fringe IMO. I have little doubt that FOX will want Bones to air with its own spinoff next season especially of Chicago Code becomes a succesful partner for House in midseason. Heres what I would do if I wa FOX...

* If Chicago Code works well with House then I would make the Bones spinoff 13 episodes for its first season and hold it for midseason 2012. This would leave Fringe to air on Thursdays in the fall and then move to fridays in midseason to wrap up.

* If Chicago Code fails then the Bones spinoff could join House on Mondays and then that would leave the Thursday slot vacant.

WB should try and sweeten the current deal with FOX because WB wants it to carry on due to DVD sales/World Markets. A 20 episode 4th season would be more than enough to wrap up the show though maybe 16-18 eps might be enough. I don't know if 13 would be enough for the writers/producers but I will take anything now...

Simple fact somehow FRINGE must be on next season.

By that logic CW needs to give LUX a 3rd season...I mean it is doing better than Melrose Place did last year and MP got a full season and LUX is only getting a 13 before it ends it's second season.

I don't see Fringe getting another season.

I didn't think Fringe would get a third season, so who knows... But I have trouble seeing Fox renew something that's fallen below a 2.0, even in that slot.

Maybe they will try having shows on Friday, again?

FOX knows 9pm thursday is a poor night for them and if given a sweet enough deal by WB, they could be tempted into a 4th season of some sort. FOX is not losing money on the show despite its ratings.

I still feel FOX will give it a 4th season and so do a lot of other TV insiders from what I read, FOX keeps indicating its in no rush to cancel it. I do wonder because J.J will produce hit shows in the future they want a slice of that future pie and cancelling Fringe would make him think twice about going back to FOX.

who knows, its more of a mystery than the plot of LOST

I hate seeing Community suffer like it has. Entertainment Weekly put it in the "5 Best Low Rated Shows Your Not Watching" article in this weeks issue.

Fringe was also in that article so maybe that will draw a scant few more eyeballs in the weeks ahead.

Jax you said the same thing last year and it somehow lived.

I'm hoping Fox would realize how dumb they are and move shows around, they didn't. Monday Nights is a fine night, Wednesday too. Fox is just really stupid. They took a hit show getting around 10 million viewers after House, actually holding on to its audience and just destroyed any chance the show has. Fridge would have gotten millions more viewers, would have held on to Houses audience a lot more than Lie to Me. Fox is still a shit network.

I just remembered I forgot Terra Nova is going to air Fall 2011 on FOX so with X Factor, Terra Nova and a potential Bones spinoff combined with Chicago Code assuming it doesn't fall flat this midseason...

I don't see a place for Fringe . Terra Nova sounds awful, I have no intention to watch a show about humans going back to the past to live with Dinosaurs .

I already figured out there is completely no time slots left for Fringe, Fox has several shows, Lie to Me, Fringe, Human Target, a few mid season, they have way too many shows and not enough room.

However Lie to Me should be a summer time show, it does decent enough in the summer. Fringe can still be saved by WB because the DVDs might sell well.

Plus Fox had extra shows this year, which was good because Lone Star was horrible, so they might want to have Terra Nova and Fringe on the same night. How knows. Once again I have no clue what the networks want anymore.

Let's see them utilize that faith by moving it to a more competitive time slot.

Even if FOX cancels it, WB will want to keep it alive but the question is could Fringe be shopped to another network with only NBC being the realistic option IMO. Fringe in a decent slot bringing back some of that DVR audience could get around the 7 million mark and a demo in the late 2's and NBC would well kill for that. Imagine the irony of NBC beating FOX in the Monday 9pm slot with one of their former shows. Fringe could give NBC 2 or 3 years service to help rebuild Monday nights.

When Fringe gets canceled no one will be picking it up, unless WB wants to stick it on Fridays with Supernatural just to get more DVD movie.

Fox doesn't need to stick Fringe in the death slot, that's just stupid! Hell's Kitchen would probably get the same ratings as it does now with the episodes airing on Thursday at 9pm.
