so many low numbers on Friday, god that Terminator movie had better come out soon, or Fox will find itself below theCW if its not careful.

Fox could easily bring another 500,000 viewers at the minimum IF they put Dollhouse at 8pm. SCC is dead LET IT GO !

Yikes. Disappointing numbers for T:TSCC and Dollhouse, but they're about what I expected. Friday is just a terrible night for television, especially for new series that are on Fox. I'm willing to bet money that both series are cancelled and Fox airs some sort of awful reality show on Friday nights instead, that'll get equal or higher ratings.

Frak! I thought for sure Dollhouse would get a decent sampling level of 10M or so before falling off a cliff! I guess Helo's ugly face scared everyone away.

So are we hating fox or the writers when dolls house gets canned.

We are hating:

1. Lack of publicity.

2. Stupid premise - doesn't meet the who-cares test.

3. Helo's ugly face.

The 30 Rock rating isn't there...? Wow. Dollhouse did even worse than I thought it would, and I thought it would do bad. Just wait till the second week dropoff! I'm a huge Whedon fan but I found this show to be astonishingly bland and uninteresting. Hard to believe Joss was within a million miles of this. Of course this is also the FOX-manded-reshot-pilot, so future eppies should be better. We can say goodbye to Terminator as well!

Oh you were one of the crazy 10 million people! :guffaw: I don't know why anyone in their right mind would think the show would get 10 million. I was thinking they would get around 5 million.

However my canceled by the 4-5th is turning out to be correct.

Everything gets 10M right out of the gate! It's a law! :rommie:

Then it falls off a cliff. I guess people have figured it out and aren't bothering to watch shows that get cancelled in three...two...

...one!

However Dollhouse is rather.... bleh... so I doubt many will miss it.

It's only hope is the fact it was number one for the night between single males 18-34 who had nothing better to do than watch it... like me!

What if they put Dollhouse on the CW and have Echo programmed to be a prom planner, a super sweet 16 birthday planner, a cheerleader coach, a guru who helps some nerds pick up chicks, and a super duper computer hacker who can used a turned-off computer to hack into another computer that's not even networked?

^ There is a rumor going around that Terminator may move to the CW if Fox terminates (pun intended) it so I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

On the bright side, surely Dollhouse's numbers can only go up from those debut numbers.

CBS aside, Friday nights are really a graveyard for television shows.

There are always rumours that shows will go to The WB / The CW, and they never ever will.

More so the Terminator, The CW wants more TV shows that only 12 year old girls watch, they don't care about guy shows.

On the bright side, surely Dollhouse's numbers can only go up from those debut numbers.

Yes, keep telling yourself that. I think the next episode will be 3.5 million, and maybe will hover around there. A lot of people only watched because of Josh, and many people think it was nothing special, so people will be ditching the show. If more so because it takes until episode 7 for the storyline to go anywhere, the first several episodes were all called "pilots" in interviewers to get people to watch.

Either way I'm not too bothered. As much as I usually like Whedon's stuff, I'd already prepared myself for another early cancellation as soon as they announced that it was going to be part of Fox's Friday night line up. Kiss of death.

I have a feeling it will be like Invasion.

Invasion had several really bleh episodes in the beginning where nothing seemed to be leading anywhere. Rumor had it that was ABC's fault because they wanted it more like Lost, slowly SLOWLY moving, it finally kicked into gear around episode 7 but half the people ditched it, including myself. It turned out to be a great series that I own on DVD.

I think Josh wanted to do make it connect more, but was pressured by Fox to do more "new viewer" episodes for the first several. In both cases i think it will lead to the demise of the show. Of course Invasion had 13-14 million viewers it's pilot and then dropped to 7-8 million.

But nothing goes up from premiere numbers anymore. Shows used to, maybe - I haven't seen an example of that happening lately. TV has gotten really tough.

With Invasion, I could imagine how the story could be great once they actually got down to the story and stopped dicking around with boring BS about broken families. They should have recognized for example that Underlay and not the forest ranger guy was the main character, and focused on him from the start.

And then halfway thru the season, they did start getting down to the Underlay-centric storyline but by then it was too late to salvage the ratings because the audience you get with the premiere is the only audience you're ever going to have. Nobody gives shows a second chance anymore.

But with Dollhouse, I have no idea how they can salvage the premise. Just seems like a bad, unworkable idea.
