A lament for Earl. I love that show. I sure hope it gets renewed. I had no idea Ugly Betty was doing that bad, I thought it was a huge ratings smash in its first season?

Ugly Betty is rumored to get some sort of a 4th season but that will be it unless ratings improve...

My Name Is Earl will have 91 episodes aired come the 4th season finale so enough for a Sydnication package so I would say NBC would be wise to cancel the show, however rumors are the show may get a short 5th season.

HA! Don't get started on the CW. It won't spend a dime advertising its two top scripted shows off network, but it gives Gossip Girl a budget increase so it can produce 2 extra episodes this season. Seriously, the finals came in for last night--the Smallville and Supernatural repeats had virtually identical numbers and demos to the new episode of Reaper last Tuesday (SPN earned over 2 million); there was a Thursday Idol last night and a new eppy of CSI that earned its customary 20 million + viewers. Still, Ostroff and the CW pump money into Gossip Girl and 90210 no matter how low numbers drop. GG gets slaughtered in total numbers and in the young girl demo when it airs against new episodes of House. 90210's numbers have been abysmal since its premiere. Both renewed with bigger budgets and advertising dollars.

Heck, even NBC will be bright enough to cut Heroes budget next season.
