Are Smallville and SNL the only things that are keeping The CW afloat? Good numbers. Should be looking good for a fifth season of SNL.

Decent numbers for Eleventh Hour by the looks of it, but the dropoff rate from CSI is about 40%!

pretty much, ironic considering how Supernatural is hated by the head of the network, and Smallville is taking "flogging the dead horse" thing to a whole new level.

Also they are two shows or only a few that are left from the theWB/UPN merger

LIke it or not, with those numbers, they can't NOT renew it surely.

Has Smallville been officially given a ninth season yet? I know Welling had apparently signed on for another season but I haven't heard anything to say that The CW had officially renewed it yet.

Despite strong starts, both 90210 and OTH have suffered of late, leaving Smallville and SNL (yes Supernatural) amongst the very few CW success stories this year.

I agree, and whilst Supernatural still has plenty of life in it, Smallville on the other hand, seriously without Clark becoming a full time hero of some description, what is left to do?

does Ugly Betty normally repeat that badly? or did the news it was being bumped drive viewers away?

^^ Ugly Betty is in a highly competitive timeslot to begin with. With it being a repeat it was always going to be low. They're probably lucky that it was a repeat episode of Criminal Minds as well, otherwise it might have been even worse.

I HATE this repeat crap. It serves zero purpose whatsoever.....

Except to lengthen the TV viewing year so it's not over in 22-24 weeks starting in September.

That would make for VERY LONG waiting periods between. And, at the same time, what would you rather they fill the time with? More reality shows? Not like they have a lot of great shows to fill the voids with.

or you could have TV shows that film 40+ shows a year?

We already have shows in the states that have new episodes every weekday. We call them soap operas. They are crap.

Reaper cannot return too soon

Go CSI - Peterson/Grissom:lol:
I missed the first non grissom episode but i caught this weeks which was weird and not the usual CSI but still great.

While I understand Reaper did exceptionally poorly both in the 18-34 demo (which the CW worships) but also poorly in the 18-49 demo (especially after the winter break). But with the failure of Privileged, Stylista, Fear is Real, I would have thought that they would have started airing new episodes in January. It gives them the option (if it did okay) of actually order a few more episodes.

AS for Supernatural while its consistently their 2nd most viewed scripted show its doesn't match the overall 18-34 demos that Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill or 90211 get and that is the audience they are promoting.

As to renewals, SN will get a 5th year if the CW is still around. And Smallville will be back if Welling has agreed. They don't have to give them an early renewal.

They haven't said anything yet, though TVGuide had a quote from Dawn Ostroff that said something to the effect of it "wouldn't be back" if she had anything to say about it.

Man, I can't wait for Supernatural to finish its fifth and final season next year, so I don't have to watch the CW anymore.
