Wow... NBC really is a great channel...

for fucking up!

Outsourced got a creamed. How much longer until the advertisers realize that their old fashion ways of paying for ads is over? The rating system is a joke, the networks realize this, the Neison people I think realize this, the only ones who don't are the people buying the ads!

The advertisers don't care if fewer people watch certain shows. They just pay less for ads on those shows and then use their budget to buy more shows. Works out the same for them, X dollars = X eyeballs, regardless whether you get X eyeballs from one show or 20.

And if TV in general ceases to be a good way of attracting eyeballs, keep in mind that TV is just one line item in an ad budget. Depending on the product being touted, other items might take up larger percentages. Billboards and event marketing are currently on the rise in snapping up ad budgets. As other forms of advertising look more effective, TV gets a smaller and smaller share of the pie.

If TV is no longer an effective ad-delivery medium, that's the TV industry's problem. The ad industry will just move on to more effective methods.

$#*! My Dad Says rating dip between Big Bang Theory and CSI shows the series needs some changes or cast additions. It does seem slow at times.

Idol returns and SMASHES ALL, people on other sites talking about it dropping ratings --- 22.63 million & 7.7/21 ITS A FUCKING MONSTER . Bones would get a similar viewer total without Idol BUT the demo saw a big increase. Next season I expect Bones to be moved again so a more younger skewing compatible show can benefit from Idol & X Factor.

TBBT stares into the face of Idol and laughs ;) and a very funny episode to boot. CBS only accept demos under 3.0 for non sitcoms so $#*! My Dad Says IS DEAD. However the comedy could find a home on ABC, which wants a 2nd comedy block next season. I expect CBS to flip CSI & The Mentalist next season but will probably get little change in results.

NBC had mixed results ---

Community needs to be cancelled but I will say for that viewer total, the demo is pretty good. Perfect Couples is DOA even for NBC as it will drop from its low viewed pilot. I have to admit I thought NBC was wrong to break up the 30 Rock/Office partnership this season but a younger show like Parks and Recreation compared to 30 Rock is a good choice...a much needed boost for the struggling comedy and the demo was excellent. 30 Rock demo for 10pm was also brilliant but Outsourced has to be DEAD DEAD DEAD.

You know if this was 10 years ago --- 30 Rock/Parks and The Office would be MEGA HITS like Friends, Fraiser and Will & Grace. The 18-49 are there but where is everyone else ?

Wipeout ratings make me think this --- How come there are so many people watching TV on a thursday compared to wednesday ? and why do people watch wipeout  Next week GA & PP will probably make a dent on the other shows but it wouldn't be a surprise to see 30 Rock dent PP 19-49 demo next week.

I watched Perfect Couples last night just to see Olivia Munn. The show is horrible. I didn't need to see the ratings to know that it'll be cancelled.

Shit is dead, it's a wrap! No more episodes are being made this season and it's not coming back next year.

1. I agree. Every year we get a 10-15% drop and millions of internet hateboys come out and wet their pants. It's the 10th year and still get's 20 million plus viewers and and insane demo. The show still has several years of life yet, and if not The X Factor will takes it's place.

2. DIE!!!!

3. 30 Rock is overrated shit. :p It's the worst thing on NBC Thursday.

A 4.5 for The Office?? Anything on NBC getting >3 is rare enough, but >4? :D NBC is going to cry so much when Carell leaves.

No shock to see Outsourced fail without The Office as its lead-in...30 Rock's ratings have held up well for being moved so much--I think 2.7 might actually be quite a bit better than its 8:30 showings?

I think it's a huge mistake to run 3 hours of sitcoms in a row like this. It's just too much to sit through at once. No wonder the audience evaporated by the time Outsourced came along. I also fear for 30 Rock's future being stuck in the 10 pm slot...

I also fear for 30 Rock's future being stuck in the 10 pm slot...

30 Rock has been renewed for a 6th season though rumors are that could be the last due to Alec Bladwin saying he wanted to retire by the end of 2012 though they could always sneak in a 13 episode 7th season and still keep that timetable.

What actors say and what they do are very very very different.

Yeah, when the tape of him cursing out his teen daughter was released, I believe between S1 and S2, he announced he was going to retire from acting and never do another thing. That didn't last long.

Love those Parks and Recreation numbers. Was so excited to see the show back last night and man did it not disappoint. One of the funniest shows I've seen so far this year.

It's not a viewership problem that $#*! has, its a steady demo in line with what else is in that block. Is there another night the show might increase its demo on CBS?
At least two other networks would envy having $#*! and yet CBS seems like they are ready to cast it aside. I really do hope Rules of Engagement and/or Mad Love tank. Perhaps making them think twice about $#*! for some type of second season pickup. It did win a People's Choice Award over Mike & Molly which they seem to be inclined to keep.

Rules of Engagement will see a boost by being with TBBT and will easily beat My Dad Says in the key demo by at least a full point. However I still think HIMYM is the perfect show for TBBT to have as a partner.

ABC would do well with My Dad Says in the 2nd night of comedy I hear they want to open. However ABC have a surpluss of them at the moment depending on how the new ones do like Matthew Perry's "Mr Sunshine". If I was NBC I would dump Outsourced and its current 8-9 slot so theres room for My Dad Says to anchor the night...

I wonder with CBS still wanting to crack friday nights but of course needing cheaper shows to go with the low amount of viewers, how about a 8-9 comedy block (cheap to make).
