Round-Up...

Despite two repeats, CBS won the night and they must be delighted on how Survivor is performing after all these years. There is no doubt all 3 shows will return next season and probably many more after that.

Fox had a solid night though am surprised how low the demo was for "Are You Smarter". However both shows are returning next year and will be going nowhere for many years with those numbers.

NBC had a typical up and down night with a poor viewer score but a solid demo score for the night. The Office demo score is fantastic and even though the total viewers are just below 10 million, there is no doubt the show is a smash hit for NBC. Even Scrubs gets some credit because for a 7 year old show with around 7 million regular viewers, the demo is fantastic and for me NBC have made a big mistake by losing the show to ABC because they will struggle to get a similar demo with whatever they replace it with. 30 Rock and Earl should be cancelled because they are poor performers but both will probably return, as will the dying E.R.

ABC's Eli Stone does not deserve to come back but ABC are a strange network so I will say 50/50. CW's Smallville is showing clear signs of old age and I predict the final 8th season next year will drop below 3 million at some point.

I say Eli Stone has a 65% chance of coming back, I don't want it to, but they like the show.

Plus what do you expect when the show is on after two Lost reruns?

Yeh not smart by ABC but all season its numbers have been pretty poor though like I saidm I won't be surprised if ABC gave it a 2nd season.

It might get perilously close to 3 million or under next week if you wait for final ratings at the end of the day; they count all markets and sift out any preemptions. Most weeks the ratings only go up or down a little, but both Smallville's and Supernatural's new episodes are being preempted next Thursday (first official night of sweeps  ) for a Cubs game. Chicago's the third largest market in the country. When it's happened before, it's cost them between 200,000 and 400,000 viewers in finals apiece. Smallville has a habit of dipping low in the spring anyway. The final numbers could be dicey with Chicago gone if it isn't rebroadcast late on the same night and the local affiliate waits until Saturday to air.

Only on the CW can your sweeps episodes get preempted for sports. :scream::scream:
