Wow, Simpsons had a quite a drop-off. Didn't it beat or tie Family Guy last week?

Why do 22 million people watch the 4pm football game, but only 13 watch the night game?

The Simpsons and Family Guy really sucked last night. They really overplayed the bird song on Family Guy.

Simpsons was actually one of the best in recent memory, in my opinion. Family Guy, on the other hand, was annoying as hell because of the stupid bird song, despite a couple of really good gags in the rest of the show.

Also, it astonishes me that America's Funniest Videos can still bring in over 9 million viewers after almost 20 years.

Winners...
Football Overrun, 60 Minutes, Extreme Makeover, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, NFL Football, The Amazing Race & Cold Case

Honorable Mention...
The Unit, Funniest Home Videos, Family Guy and The Simpsons

Decent...
King of The Hill and American Dad

Losers...
Football Night in America and all of The CW

Round Up...

CW should just give up on Sunday nights because any improvements being made on MON-THUR nights are being wasted with nights like this and friday, just plain HORRIBLE.

CBS had a typical strong Sunday with no real stinkers but despite The Unit is still doomed IMO despite getting very solid ratings for a Sunday 10pm show that is has been moved not only away from NCIS but to 10pm and LOST will tell you don't put non 10pm shows there.

ABC had a nice surprise with Funniest Home Videos scoring above average ratings plus Extreme Makeover bounced back from a bad week before. Brothers & Sisters may be down on total viewers but is in no trouble with that demo and besides being on 10pm Sunday, the day before the working week begins I suspect high DVR numbers for the show, still interesting to see that on total viewers alone it only beats soon to be xed BL by around 1 million viewers and has far less Critical Praise/Emmy awards behind it too.

NBC had nothing to complained about though FOX needs those news shows quick cause the 7-8 slot kills there overall totals. The Simpson dropped from last week but is in no danger and will be like a yo yo I suspect for the season but IMO it should end after the current 20th to work on more movies.

In CW's defense, these shows are not home grown productions. They essentially outsourced Sunday night to some company who came up with their own programs. So CW gets some sort of fees without too much expenditure. Probably works for them.

I have to think Kelly's licensing fee for Boston Legal is in part what makes the show expendable. B/S has to be close to the same boat with a huge main cast and some pretty top tier guest stars, especially last year (Steven Weber, Danny Glover, for instance). As for the other point about awards: sure, you're right. But BL was spun out of a successful show (The Practice) where B/S had to reshoot its own pilot before going on the air. Kinda like comparing apples to bananas.

The Simpson dropped from last week but is in no danger and will be like a yo yo I suspect for the season but IMO it should end after the current 20th to work on more movies.

Simpsons isn't going anywhere. Not with the ratings it continues to bring in along with the place in our culture, ancillaries and all that jazz. Fox will run it into the ground; the show will outlast everything else on the Fox Sunday lineup.

theCW, In Harm’s Way was just awful, the other two not great but by the CW standards not a total failure like In Harm’s Way.

I assume In Harm’s Way is a Buffy spin-off about Harmony?
