Very respectable numbers for New Amsterdam. Quite timely too. Similar numbers next week and Fox have an interesting decision to make.

Is it just me, or are those numbers for a repeat of The Big Bang Theory better than recent new episodes?

FOX
House (Repeat) - 7.16 million & 2.5/7
New Amsterdam - 7.53 million & 2.3/6

Yeah, glad to see New Amsterdam pick back up from its 6.3 figure last week. Even though it was a repeat its good to see it added viewers over its lead in HOUSE, which FOX loves. Over in the episode discussion thread it was mentioned it only got a 2.5 in the coveted demo. Berman said one week it improved in that demo but it must have dropped. So what type of aggregate score in the 18-49 should it strive for in order to be a contender? It appears if it has as good a finale numbers as this week that viewership numbers alone would make it at least a bubble show.

Not bad for a show FOX had cancelled before ever airing and only got aired due to the strike.

No, it's not just you. You're correct. They were considerably better than the last new show, IIRC. Odd. Maybe the basketball crowd got an early start or something.

Winners...
Two and a Half Men (R), NCAA Basketball, DWTS, Medium and Samantha Who

Honorable Mention...
The Big Bang Theory (R) and Deal or No Deal

Could Go Either Way...
New Amsterdam

Dying...
The Bachelor

Pathetic...
My Dad is Better Than Your Dad

Round-Up...

CBS had a typical Monday night, leading the way though with two re-runs but its no surprise to see Two & Half Men do so well in reruns. The Big Bang Theory numbers were weird but thats was probably due to some of the results being affected by basketball in the central time zones.

Despite what Berman said, ABC should stick with Samantha Who as lead out to DWTS though The Bachelor needs to be put down. However expect to see all 3 shows back next season for ABC.

The only hope for My Dad is Better Than Yours, is for a summer timeplace. Deal or No Deal and Medium will be coming back however after NBC annoucned there 2008-2009 lineup.

No one cares about the CW but FOX has a tricky situation on there hands with New Amsterdam. Personally I feel FOX will bury it, but to be honest FOX has a few gaps in there lineup and I would bring it back for a 2nd season because its doing decent work still considering FOX has moved it around so much and finally gave it a bad 9pm slot leading out from a repeat up against DWTS and Two & Half Men normally.

I tend to agree re New Amsterdam. I get the feeling that Fox will cancel it, simply to prove themselves right all along.

So what if it shows any kind of uptick in viewers and demos for its "season" finale this coming Monday? I agree its highly possible FOX cancels it just because. It seems they showed it out of lack of anything else, cause it was never suppossed to air pre-strike. It was DOA as far as they were concerned.

So would it be a fit on another network? Would a CBS block of Moonlight, Ghost Whisperer and New Amsterdam be appealing? It'd be the closest a network has gotten to sci-fi Friday.

If FOX keeps it where do they place it on the schedule? Against Moonlight, the other network immortal? I don't see it staying at Monday against HEROES. Terminator and NA have shared this slot and Terminator seems the better counter programming to HEROES.
