Kutcher no longer looks like Jesus? :vulcan:

Is it too soon to worry about Alcatraz? :sigh:

Is it too soon to worry about Alcatraz? :sigh:

Its looking toast, serialized drama's stand little chance these days.

I'd say the problem is the non-serialized nature of it. It's basically a police procedural with some sci fi ish mystery elements and this week was the first time we got any significant traction on the sci fi story. But the ratings reflect previous weeks, and I think this show is just straining the audience's patience. If we wanted a cop show, we'd watch CBS.

NBC must be doing a happy dance at Smash. They desperately need a hit. There was 19% erosion at the half-hour, which is a little worrying but not terrible. Some folks are always going to sample a show and then conclude it's not for them, especially if they're a heterosexual male, ha ha. :D

Did Terra Nova have better or worst ratings than Alcatraz?
Terra Nova got 6.5-7.24 million viewers for its last five episodes, with demo ratings of 2.1 or 2.2. In other words, in the same range as this week's episode of Alcatraz, although Alcatraz has yet to stabilize, so we don't know what its floor is yet.

Alcatraz went up in the final to a 2.3 in the final so a little better news. Best case for the show is the DVR shows a big increase and when The Voice settles down we see some of those viewers return and Alcatraz goes back to a 2.6-2.8 demo. I am not holding my breath though because I think The Voice + CBS comedies will kill FOX not too mention DWTS will return also in March. FOX needs to re-invent Mondays nights possibly away from drama which will score low in the 18-49 demo against such shows.

I expect Smash to drop and Castle to rise a little in coming weeks but all season long the ABC crime comedy drama has suffered from demo issues like it did back in season 1 and early season 2. While a season 5 is still pretty much a lock due to season 5 would lock in key sydnication packages I do wonder how much longer after that. If season 5 see's the demo drop under 2.0 then I would bet ABC would end it then (no more than 6 seasons I feel).

Well, The River is on track to be a done in one show.

Being Human drew 1.453 million viewers and a 0.7 in the demo. Deadline Hollywood reports that Syfy have renewed the show for a third season:

To date, Season 2 is running 27% higher in adults 18-49 and 5% in total viewers vs. last season. With women comprising 52% of its audience, Being Human is Syfy’s most female-skewing scripted series ever.
