Round-Up...

Going to start with a rumor today regarding FOX and if true then its bad news for fans, as its been hinted that FOX will cancel both shows after 13 episodes. IMO the rumor for SCC has a strong chance of being true if things do not pick up, however we all know PB was ending anyway this season so FOX may give it the time to wrap everything up.

I want to hammer Marc Berman now who listed Boston Legal as a flat out loser today which proves he comes from the same school of thinking as those ABC execs. Boston Legal is not doing poorly no matter what the lead in numbers of DWTS may be. How many shows especially on ABC at 10pm can say that they pull in nearly 10 million viewers for a 10pm show (Only Bro & Sisters for ABC off the top of my head). That comes after 3 time changes in 5 seasons, weak ass advertising and last season a horrible lead in when DWTS was off the air. Oh yeh and thats nearly 10 million against CSI Miami, the most watched show in the world according to surveys. Boston Legal always does better in the 2nd half of the season normally getting between 10-11 million so ABC would be wise to extend the final season because I will bet ABC will struggle to get any 10pm show to get near the ratings and critical acclaim of BL.

As for CBS, one thing that makes TBBT & HIMYM numbers better than Worst Week is a higher demo despite lower viewers than Worst Week but also they don't follow out of Two & Half Men. CBS are total bastards so any more of a drop which is likely then they will probably axe it either right away or after 13 episodes. CBS would be wise if they do decide to cut there losses to put Old Christine back until ROE returns so they can save at least 1 show instead of losing two.

NBC was supposed to be getting better this season but infact they have gone backwards. Chuck & Life posted numbers which are less than flattering so the question is now, NOT how good will NBC do this season but how many shows will they have to cancel this year. Heroes is not as bad as it looks due to DVR numbers though it can't keep dropping lower numbers because eventually that demo will follow suit with the viewers number in going down.

CW carrys on there year to year improvement proving there may be some life left afterall but the jury is still out on whenever it is enough improvement or will it carry on ?

yes 3.5 average (ok its more like 3.48) for the night, pretty good by the CW standards.

if Heroes is a season low, then surely Chuck & Life are in trouble with those numbers.

Not too worried about Worst Week, unless I have to be worried about TBBT and HIMYM

& finally Fox, oh boy is Fox in trouble.

Chuck' been pretty hevaily promoted as well... Maybe actually having Heroes lead into Chuck would help a bit...

Oh, and you are right ABC are complete morons if they think anything will do as well as Boston legal. That show gets screwed over by ABC time and again and still gets very solid numbers.

Looks like Heroes is settling into a loyal audience around 9.5M. Far from shabby these days. The rest of NBC's lineup should be so lucky.

But the Heroes producers can't get complacent. They really need to keep the reminiscent-of-S1 quality ramped up to hang onto their safe spot. Audiences are so fickle nowadays. They're lucky they're on NBC, which is wall to wall loser shows.

Life may not be in as much trouble as you think - 7M/2.5 demo is where they left off before the Writers Strike eons ago. I'm not sure NBC can afford to scoff at viewers as loyal as that.

Hey look, Terminator finally out-performed Prison Break. I'm surprised these two don't get higher demos in the 18-34 (that's what the second number is right?) as they're both fantastical action shows.

Is Mother doing better this year versus last? I thought it was doing terribly before. Could this be from the success of Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

At the moment BBT & HIMYM are up from one year ago and more important both are doing far better than how they ended there seasons especially TBBT, which is around 1 million up from the season finale.

I'm surprised Life did better than Chuck and that Sarah Connor Chronicles did better than Prison Break.

And Boston Legal can't even hold half of that dancing crap shows numbers. They will most likely replace BL with Wives and Husbands, which will be like a mix of Brothers and Sisters and Desperate Sluts. The ratings for which will be massive!
