Round-Up...

ABC enjoyed another Monday night win thanks to DWTS, but lead out Samantha Who? is beginning to drop though it will probably return for a 2nd season. The Bachelor needs to be axed once and for but I wouldn't be surprised to see ABC try and revamp the ageing show.

Big Bang is lucky it's already been renewed and for me CBS must give the 8pm slot to How I Met Your Mother, which can perform better in the typical low rated slot. Of course expect to see CSI, Two & Half Men and Rules of Engagement all return next season.

NBC had a solid night overall and no real worries for either show though NBC have majorly over-used there so called quiz/reality show and Deal or No Deal may feel the effects, sooner rather than later.

Bones had a typical solid outing but the long strike break & new temp, Monday slot has hurt the demo a little. However the sleeper hit will be coming back for a 4th season, which is rumored to start on August 26th. That means the House/Bones tuesday partnership will continue in the fall, untill they split up to partner Idol on Tuesday & Wednesday in the New Year.

CW had a better than usual night with two original episodes but still a low rated one. One Tree Hill has suffered from the monday move and should IMO partner Reaper next season and let Gossip Girl find a new monday partner.

So Gossip Girl is the CW's big hit show that they poured megabucks into promoting, with that result? Hmph. Reaper got more viewers in its most-recent first-run episode (2.78 M). New episode tonight, btw.

I dunno what the ratings are in the 18-24 age group or whatever it is that the CW is after, but Reaper certainly isn't hurting for viewers by the CW's debased standards.

Silly Temis. :p Ratings don't matter. Only the ratings in the young female demo. CW was very pleased with last night. Its press release, per Marc Berman at pifeedback.com....

...The return of Gossip Girl, paired with original episodes of One Tree Hill to create our new night of drama, gave us our best Monday EVER in adults 18-34 (2.0/6) and women 18-34 (3.0/8).

Very good demo story for the GOSSIP GIRL return -- GG scored its third best performance ever in adults 18-34 (1.9/6) and women 18-34 (2.9/8) behind only the pilot and the 11/14 episode. GOSSIP GIRL was second in the time period in women 18-34 and first in female teens (2.7/9).

At 9:00 ONE TREE HILL was in line with last week's performance (3.1/8 in women 18-34) and built on its GOSSIP lead-in. OTH was also second in the time period with young women and first with female teens (3.2/9).

From 8-10, The CW was second in women 18-34 (3.0/8) and first in female teens (3.0/9)....

Variety also seemed to think that CW did well. It doesnt' matter that Reaper always scores higher ratings than Gossip Girl. Reaper doesn't deliver in the female teen and young bouncing booby demos. All CW cares about is 18-34 demos and female teens. You can throw 18-49 out the window. You can throw total ratings out the window. This is why CW renewed Gossip Girl for a new season last fall and hasn't yet renewed Reaper. It sucks in the young demos and really hurts when it comes to the female demos.

This policy will bring CW to financial ruin, but they're bound and determined to focus on those demos. That's why they're working furiously to get a pilot finished on the new 90210-type series they want to air next year. The suits are bound and determined to go with trash reality and teen shows.

Man, How I met your mother deserved to win more after the last 5minutes. I am definitely going to tune in next week.
