The Walking Dead (AMC) - 6.89 million & 3.6

The Walking Dead (repeat) - 1.64 million & 0.8

Thats a total nightly audience of 8.53 million & 4.4 demo rating for the cable giant.

Comic Book Men (AMC) - 1.44 million & 0.8

Shameless (SHO) - 1.41 million & 0.8

House of Lies (SHO) - 0.85 million & 0.4

I wonder how wise Showtime was to give "House of Lies" an early pick up. Comic Book Men will probably not get a 2nd season after holding so little of TWD's lead in.

AMC needs to greenlight (and rename) Thunderstruck and put it in the post-TWD timeslot - the premise is about alien visitors to Earth but it sounds like it has a similar character focus to TWD. A show like that would hold onto the audience (assuming it's also got a reasonable amount of action).

AMC's been flailing around with mismatched shows - first a mopey Western and now an annoying quasi-reality show about dweebs. They should have known neither would work - they're too far from what TWD's audience wants.

It's not so hard to figure out why TWD is a hit - it has action, pretty compelling characters, and it satisfies a largely unmet hunger for intelligent sci fi. Just do another show like that, in any sci fi genre besides zombies. Horror or fantasy are also possibilities, as long as they got some smarts.

Smash has gone from a 3.8 for the first episode to a 2.3 for the latest.

It costs $4m per episode.

It's wasting The Voice's lead-in.

Certainly won't last as a lead-out, and if it falls much harder, given the cost, it probably won't survive at all.

If Smash were to fall below 2.0 then NBC would probably axe it but they have so any other shows to cancel first anything above 2.0 at 10pm would most likely give it a 2nd season.

NBC are in a similar position to The CW - they should cancel everything bar about two or three shows. Keeping 'the best of a bad bunch' is still keeping something bad. They'd be as well chancing their arm with their development slate.

Although, yes, you're right, they won't do that.

Out of 10 hours of weekly programming for The CW...I'd keep & this is based on personal bias and not on ratings. :p Hart Of Dixie, Ringer, The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle & Supernatural...everything else can go. :D Leaves room for 5 new shows in the fall. :bolian:

[edit] Like Arrow, Beauty & The Beast and Cult. ;)

The CW will keep TVD, Supernatural, The Secret Circle and one from Nikita, Ringer and HoD.

Don't particularly have a problem with that, providing that the one to keep is HoD. :)

90210 and GG will most likely to survive, although based on its ratings, GG shouldn't do.

OTH ends this year anyway.

Hart Of Dixie, Ringer & The Secret Circle have room to grow...GG, 90210 & Nikita are just done. Again...my personal bias. :D Actual The CW needs to stop the strange scheduling...do 11 eps break and 11 or so eps. Ugh.

90120 will have 92 episodes come the end of its 4th season so I feel CW will cancel it. Gossip Girl will have 111 by the end of its 5th season so I also expect that to end because thats more than enough to make some $$$ of reruns in the future.

In March I will be doing my Axe List thread like last season but at the moment CW have quite a few 50/50's.

With OTH finishing I can't see them cancelling both 90210 and GG - Most likely scenario would be that they cancel GG, and keep 90210, but based on recent comments at the CW, it really wouldn't surprise me if they keep both.

OTH finishes this year anyway, and then they'll can Ringer and either one or both of Nikita and HoD.

CW pilots for next season;

Cult
Arrow
First Cut
The Selection
Beauty & The Beast
Joey Dakota
The Carrie Diaries
Shelter

I think Arrow and The Carrie Diaries are no-brainers for pickup. Beyond that, it'll depend on how they judge the respective pilots to be shaping up.

If they were to keep one then I agree 90210 would be the likely case to get past 100 episodes and secure a better sydnication package but CW really should clean house. HOD repeat numbers in the other thread and the fact it always improves upon its lame duck lead in audience on Mondays still makes me believe the show does have an audience but on a different night. I would keep it over Ringer IMO and let it air Tuesday Nights.

I can also see Secret Circle moving to fridays next season and The Green Arrow show to air out of The Vampire Diares...That of course would mean the death of Nikita

My CW Axe List...

Likely to be renewed
America's Next Top Model
The Secret Circle
The Vampire Diaries

50/50
Hart of Dixie
Ringer
Supernatural

Likely to be cancelled
Remodeled
90120
Nikita
Gossip Girl

Already cancelled
H8R

Ending
One Tree Hill

I think Supernatural's likely to get renewed at this point. Its numbers are equal to or better than The Secret Circle's, and that's on Friday night without the CW's most popular show as a lead-in.

ETA: Bah, I made the dreaded "it's instead of its" mistake. That hardly ever happens to me. I blame the cold I'm currently dealing with. :ouch:

SPN is the new SMALLVILLE. ;) Yeah...I thought they were ending it...but then I here about another season.

Nearly agree - I'd move SNL to likely to be renewed, and then swap around Ringer and 90210 - no way is Ringer getting renewed.
