Going to start with posting the ratings for Dollhouse & SCC since I didn't do the Friday/Sunday thread this week because well both nights sucked heavy with repeats and airing other crap...

Sarah Connor Chronicles (season/series finale) - 3.56 million & 1.3/5

Dollhouse - 3.56 million viewers & 1.4/4

Before the end of April both shows will be cancelled, CW is NOT going to pick up Terminator and my guess is the Terminator franchise's woes will continue with a bad under performing movie come next May....

So Heroes bounced back up - I guess last week was Spring Break or sumthin'?

Here's an interesting article on what the demo numbers mean - not all demos are created equal and some shows trade at a premium. We've already seen this effect with Reaper doing decent numbers compared with some of CW's shows but since it doesn't attract enough females for the CW advertisers, it gets the axe. But Heroes' ability to attract a male audience will keep it safer than the numbers imply.

Take General Electric ( GE - news - people )-owned NBC's Heroes, a one-time hit that has since shed at least 2 million viewers a year. In fact, the high-concept sci-fi series garnered just 7.9 million weekly viewers so far this season, putting it 59th among network programs. As of late January, however, an average telecast still fetched $4.3 million worth of ads, making it one of the costliest telecasts in prime time.

"It's not necessarily just eyeballs that advertisers are buying here," explains Ed Gentner, senior vice president of video investment activation at MediaVest of advertiser interest. "It's the right eyeballs."

So while many in the buying community expect Heroes' spots to sell for less in the coming upfront given the audience erosion, they're quick to argue the show offers other perks for Madison Avenue buyers. Its viewers skew younger and male, both appealing to marketers, and the Heroes' audience is particularly engaged, with heavy online participation offered as proof.

Marc Ausselio reports the death of SCC...

Resist the urge to nuke the messenger, but multiple sources are telling me that Fox will not be renewing Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for a third season.

"It's done," maintains a source close to the show. "Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks." Adds a network insider: "Consider it canceled."

Despite a FOX rep saying "No decision has been made yet, we will be announcing our fall schedule on May 18."

Rough translation: It won't be back.

Chuck will have better numbers than house when they factor in DVR and online viewers. That's pretty awesome.

Somehow I doubt that, the DVR viewers aren't that high and website viewings cannot tell the difference between one person watching it more than once.

Isn't this just basically a copy and paste from the end of season 1?
And then after 13 episodes in the 2nd season?

Sure, it could happen. But it's not official until it's official.

Marc is a good source and I feel FOX won't cancel it officially until they announce there new lineup in mid May because of the upcoming T-4 movie...but its DEAD sorry fans.

Oh, poor Nathan Fillion :(

There goes another.

I know. I don't understand it is a crime drama. The characters are great. Why isn't america watching this it has all the right stuff.

Too bad HIMYM wasn't higher ratings too, that was a great episode!

Winners...
DWTS, Two and a Half Men, Rules of Engagement, CSI: Miami and House and 24

Honorable Mention...
The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and Surviving Suburbia

Losers...
Chuck, Heroes, Medium and Castle

Round-Up
ABC rules the roost thanks to DWTS but its still a bag of mixed results with Castle hitting a series low. Lets start with Castle, which is now in danger and I feel the drop will continue so this show won't see past its debut season. Despite a poor retention rate Surviving Suburbia is ok for now and will be if it drops a bit more though ABC would be wise to return Samantha Who? to the monday night slot after DWTS.

CBS enjoyed a typical monday night and its very interesting to see that the amount House loss from the previous episode seems to be the amount gained for TBBT. Also I can't help but wonder with TBBT skewing a lower demo but a higher audience than HIMYM does the show skew under 18 or above 49 more than its 8:30pm partner. Rules of Engagment proves its the best partner for Two & Half men compared to TAOC or WW and should be given a full order next season starting in the fall or midseason unless CBS might want to but TBBT with 2&HM ;).

FOX had a good night despite small losses for both House & 24 from previous original episodes. Even though Heroes has done a lot of the damage to itself its no small thing how dramatic the drop has been with some viewers probably going to 24 and sticking there because 24 has been TRULY FRACKING AMAZING this season and is the most improved show this season IMO.

NBC had some good news with Chuck and Heroes growing from last week but Heroes the countdown continues (20 episodes from ending) since season 4 will be only 18 episodes IMO. Chuck is 50/50 and I will still say a small order will be given for a 3rd season BUT Medium is deader than the dead people in the show (I know bad Pun) :p...

BTW the 5th Volume for HEROES is going to be called
Redemption
I bet to god they hope it turns out to be

CW well repeats, wouldn't of seen that coming

Was that supposed to be a spoiler code for the Heroes' volume title? I dunno, maybe they should have chosen something less meta. ;)

I doubt those audiences have anything to do with each other. I think people independently assess shows and decide whether to watch them at all, not choose one over the other. People have a lot of options to use in cases where shows have time conflicts, so scheduling is no longer very relevant for anyone but the most geriatric, technophobic audience (meaning if either of those shows were on CBS, yeah maybe that would be a factor).

Funny, I find 24 very stale this season. They've finally gotten to that inevitable point where there isn't anything new to do, so it's all just rearranging familiar elements in new configurations. Even the "big revelation" last night was kinda expected...and the other shoe dropping that I expect in the season finale would be just as unexciting. As much as it flounders around, Heroes has an open-ended premise that doesn't force into such creatively dead waters.

Next season really needs to be the last for 24 - give us the possibility that Jack will die at the end of the season. That's the only new thing they can do at this point. But the only thing stopping Heroes from going on for ten seasons is the creativity of the writers and the ratings.

^ Rumors are 24 will end next season with Kiefer dropping several hints he wants movies or nothing after a 8th season. I just feel 24 has gone back to basics and its worked well.

Marc? You mean Michael, I assume.

Ashley Edward Miller, one of the writers on Sarah Connor, posted this on twitter:

"Time for Ausiello's semi-annual SCC termination report. False again. (Remember "sets were destroyed" report? Now you know context, people)."

Just anecdotal mumblings here on my part, but at my office (all younger people who are pretty busy with their work in the tech field, no less... same amount of work, less people these days to do it all), choosing 24 over Heroes IS what has happened with the majority. Sure, this is just about 6 or 7 people, and most of them want to catch up on Heroes over the summer when they don't have other shows to juggle. But, hey, if it happens in my office, there's that possibility it's happening in others. They'd rather watch 24 now, and talk about it the next day, and aren't as concerned with Heroes.

Scheduling IS important, but it's not just about what's on the TV at the same time in this day and age. It's about life in general. :)

Yep mean Michael dunno why I said Marc...Hes right thought its dead FOX would be the stupidest they have ever been to bring it back even though a TV/DVD movie or mini series would be cool for the fans to end it.

Heres some news about 24 season 8...

Its moving to NEW YORK
