The episode was new to everyone despite being filmed last season. Great numbers. Glad it put Heroes in its place.

Does Heroes really stand any chance of renewal with those numbers?

It does well internationally and on DVD. And really, what does NBC have to replace it with?

I say this as someone who can't believe how bad this show sucks now. I'm not even sure I'll watch next season, if it gets picked up again. Sigh.

Chuck is officially doing better than Heroes, which says a lot about Heroes or about Chuck...I'm not sure which. If Chuck can sustain its ratings, Heroes is toast if NBC has to make a choice.

That said, I'm also glad to see Castle doing well and still shocked that the Big Bang Theory is kicking all sorts of ass.

Wouldn't bet on it. That's exactly the kind of boneheaded decision NBC would make. Look for protestations of global success and profitable merchandising coming to justify cancelling Chuck and keeping Heroes.....

Heroes will be back because I think they are still looknig for 100 episodes.

Chuck will most likely be back, but this is NBC so God only knows.

We don't know how international figures play into this equation. Certainly Chuck is a far better written show but Heroes probably does a lot better overseas.

Considering that NBC will soon be dying for material I imagine both shows will stick around.

NBC has 18 scripted shows, or 18 drama pilots being made, they have plenty to choose from.

Do you know how many pilots turn out to be shit? A lot. At the critics press tour the NBC exec admitted that the loss of Leno's show makes it more likely for a show like Chuck to be renewed.
