more decent numbers from HIMYM, which is a good sign. Still waiting to hear whether it will be back or not, but it's certainly been doing well enough to justify a return. Didn't think Spears was as good tonight, but not bad...

American Gladiators got pretty shitty numbers. Then again, it's realisically just a summer show anyway, so it'll probably get a huge bounce over the next couple weeks as the other shows disappear. For summer show fodder, it's decent enough to keep around. Not sure of the money involved, but can't be TOO bad, as aside from the sets, the Hulk, the Gladiators' steroid bills, what's left? Can't be paying anyone much money, and the bulk of the show is the contestants, who are free labor, so should be cheap enough to keep around.

Edit: Sweet! According to the other thread, HIMYM made the 'renewed' list :D

Winners...
DWTS, Samantha Who?, House, Two and a Half Men, Rules of Engagement and CSI Miami

Honorable Mention...
Bones, The Bachlor and HIMYM

Decent...

Worrying for next year...
Big Bang Theory

Losers...
American Gladiators, Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill

Round-up...

I want to start by talking about TBBT, which I have recently begin watching and I think since CBS renewed HIMYM, that next season the two should switch slots because HIMYM will be able to handle to 8pm sot better and TBBT cannot. Also since its only 1 year old, CBS should work on TBBT more since it has a longer potential future left in it than HIMYM which will begin to wrap up either next season or the year after should it get a 5th season.

Also one last thing CBS, cancelling SHARK which was a 10pm show that brought in 10 million+ is idiotic but you were correct to cancel Moonlight. Also Rules of Engagement and Old Christine have been picked up too by CBS.

Bones was at above average levels and this show will easily make it to 5-7 seasons before calling it a day in the future. House was up from last week and don't forget part 2 next week is the 4th season finale.

If NBC thinks that "American Gladiators" can compete against DWTS, House, Bones and the CBS comedies then they are brain dead. American Gladiators is a friday night show or Summer show ONLY. Medium slipped out of honorable list after coming dead last behind CSI & even The Bachelor but still it will be around for a few years more.

Just some more news and ABC have decided to give The Bachelor a new season but it will be Mid-season and not fall...so stupid, these numbers were only high due to season finale.

CW - No one cares...really.

I'm against that, but only because I like HIMYM more than TBBT. By doing this, you're taking ratings away from HIMYM (granted, not as many as the other way around, so a better business decision). From my selfish perspective, I want HIMYM to do as well as possible, so we don't have to play with it being a bubble show every single renewal season. If they are going to go that route, I'd hope they would at least do so with the understanding that they are intentionally taking a hit on ratings there, and thus act more forgiving when the numbers are lower than they could be...

Wow, that is an incredibly grotesque number for American Gladiators. I mean, what exactly was NBC thinking launching their "All American Summer" when other series haven't shown their finales? It's not even Memorial Day, for criminey sakes.

Just seen BONES and omg what an episode and a fantastic ending however I am surprised to learn that is not the final episode of the season because even though the conclusion is predictable, it still would of made a great season finale.

Next week the season ends with the serial killer Gormigan, idenity being revealed.

I'm just not understanding the drop off in numbers for TBBT. I think the show is as good, if not better, than when it started. It's nosedive started with the timeslot switch with HIMYM and it's really down this week.

Perhaps the "geek humor" has run it's course with general TV viewing population.

^ If TBBT moved to 8:30pm it's ratings would be 9 million+ and the demo at least 3.2...HIMYM is closer to ending its story and is the better equip to handle 8pm. If CBS wants to make a good buissness call then they need to go back to the timeslots that started this season and go HIMYM followed by TBBT.

Also just seen HOUSE and dam FOX had the best night of TV by a mile because along with BONES, I think they both hit a season high in terms of quality.

How ironic! I uncharacteristically decided to check it out, despite my loathing for reality TV, and sorta liked it. Figures that it would end up cancelled (I don't see any other future for it.)

Agreed. I like AG, more as guilty pleasure than anything else (And Crush is hot but that's another topic) but they launched it way too early. The best time to do it would have have Memorial day. Might have gotten big ratings then.
