NBC need to put 30 Rock back at 8pm and cancel Community, Perfect Couples and Outsourced. Also with no original airings alongside it CBS has now just made it 100% clear that $#*! My Dad Says is DEAD.

It's interesting you feel that way, I lurk on another bulletin board and guy has started a thread there about the likelihood of shows being renewed last year. I have no idea what his sources are but he says this about his info:

I’ll be updating this list regularly with the latest industry intel, so I strongly suggest you bookmark this puppy and check back for updates.

He list Shat as as "Sure Bet" to be renewed based on his intel. So we'll see what happens. No offense Jax, but I hope he's right and you're wrong.

Also isn't Blue Bloods getting better numbers on Weds. nights?

The demo seems to low for me to think CBS will keep it off friday nights. I believe it will easily get a 2nd season but on Fridays.

I don't know which list your going from but I do know the always adorable Michael Ausiello did a list recently on his new site TVLine but I've got several bones to pick with him about his list :p

The List...

V - Could go either way

V is not a 50/50, its a long shot

The Good Wife - A sure thing

The signals from CBS have been mixed all season and while I think CBS will probably move it to a new night for a 3rd season its more of a 50/50 leaning towards pick up than a sure thing.

Fringe - A safe bet

Its way to early for that type of call but the signs are promising, however remember FOX has way too many shows this year and a spotty track record with struggling SCI FI shows.

$#*! My Dad Says - A safe bet.

CBS seems to cancels it's lowest rated sitcom and that honor goes to Mr Shat. Now I would of moved it to mondays before the start of midseason but CBS didn't, then they didn't pick up enough episodes to make 22 and aired it as a filler on a repeat ridden night...

All the signals point to Cancelville

theres more but I cba to type anymore in this post

That guy is dead wrong.

Production on a shorten season of Shit is already wrapped, the show has been dead for months.

I'd also like a link. :-p

However Jax should be hanged for saying Community should be canceled! It gets a 2.2, that's decentish... probably a cheap show. Best comedy NBC has by a mile.

Outsourced is dead man walking, I'd cancel that and Perfect Couples and move 30 Rock to 8, Community to 8:30. However NBC doesn't have anything for the 10 o'clock hour, maybe a series of specials on the real Biggest Loser... NBC itself.

Cougar Town was also new on wednesday, even though the three earlier shows were all repeats. I imagine it did even worse than usual?

I agree @#$% is dead, unless another network picks it up. I could see ABC possibly going for it if they still want a second night of comedy next year and their midseason shows this year fail. CBS might not be happy right now but its ratings would be decent or good for any other network.

That guy is dead wrong.

Well "That guy" turns out is Michael Ausiello. The list that was quoted on the other bulletin board was lifted verbatim from the link Jax posted.

Forgive me for asking this, because I don't know what your credentials in the TV industry are, for all I know you work in the industry. But if you don't, you think maybe it's just a bit presumptuous to think you know more than an actual industry insider?

Personally I have no clue, I don't know one way or another. But if a guy with the background Michael Ausiello has says this show or that show is a "safe bet" to return, I don't think I'd be emphatically posting it's dead until it's be officially announced.

But that's just me.

You really think this have inside info because he has a website?

It's the same thing with TV by the Numbers, the commenters there have more common sense than the people running the site. Jax and I could open a blog and do a better job guessing.

Shit didn't get a full season pick up, it's ratings are shit for having the best time slot on TV today. Unless William Shatner is paying people off or fucking them there is no chance for a second season on CBS.

The only reason V might get a second season is because ABC is in the shitter and it has a solid (but low) fanbase.

No, I'm not going by him just having a website. Jesus Christ, give me a little more credit than that. From Wikipedia:

Michael Ausiello is an American television industry journalist and sometimes actor. He was a Senior Writer at TV Guide and its companion website, TVGuide.com, where he developed a reputation for breaking television industry news stories for eight years (2000–2008).[2] On May 28, 2008, Ausiello left TV Guide for Entertainment Weekly [3] and posted his first blog for Entertainment Weekly on July 2, 2008.[4] On October 4, 2010, he announced his departure from Entertainment Weekly to join Jay Penske's Mail.com Media, where he launched a new TV site, TVLine.com.[5]

But hey, whatever. I'm so glad you're so confident in your position. But forgive me if I tend think this guy might know more about what he't talking about. (If it makes you feel any better, he says Fringe is a "Safe Bet" as well.)

But you know what? I don't care anymore. I'm not going to worry about it. Either it's cancelled or it's not, debating it here won't change that. For now, I'll assume it's coming back next fall. And if get's cancelled, you can remind me of this post and rub my nose in it.

I don't work in TV or USA TV for that matters since I live in england ;) but over the years I have learn't a lot about the U.S tv industry from all sort of sources and I think I do pretty well with my predictions. I know for the most part what numbers the network want in what slots and the only person I know saying My Dad Says could get picked up is Michael.

Now to be fair his prediction was made before this weeks episode, which for me confirms its death on CBS at least. CBS had cancelled its lowest rated sitcom for the past several years and the demo is unacceptable to any CBS exec. Michael is great with interviews and connections but I don't think ratings are his strong point and something he hardly posts about anyway, CBS has not hinted anything about a pickup to any other TV insider that I know of so I think hes taking a guess. I go off numbers and they are telling me its dead due to CBS does not accept comedies getting under 3.5 in the demo most of the time never mind a 2.3

I would love to be wrong because I like the show for the most part.

The worst thing about the show being cancelled IMHO is that it's probably the Shat's last hurrah on network TV. Of course maybe a lot of people think that's a good thing.

And for the record, he didn't say it was a sure thing, just a safe bet, which I think just means better than 50/50 in his opinion. And FWIW, I think he pretty much has the same predictions as you do on the rest of the shows out there. It's just this one, he disagrees on. Which caught me by surprise since you've been saying for months it was dead.

I don't think I've been saying it for months it started well enough. I said at the start I doubt it would survive and then I was saying it needed to be moved and ever since towards ends of 2010 I decided it was DEAD. Boston Legal was so amazing I wish he would of gone out then at the top of his acting ability :)

Well I think his acting ability is still good, unfortunately though he was the ONLY thing carrying this show. Which for me was enough, unfortunately not enough viewers share my opinion.

I was thinking about this show compared to Mike and Molly. It seems like EVERY character on Mike and Molly is funny. I don't think any of them individually are as funny as the Shat, (although Carl is pretty damn funny) but collectively the cast is MUCH stronger. This show might have worked better if Shat hadn't really been the lead, and had a cast like that.

Hey there's an idea, make Shat a recurring character on M&M next year.

Yeah I only watch #$*% because of Shat. The rest of it is terribly unfunny. The main character in particular, I really don't care for that actor smirking through all his lines.
