TV & Media Avatar Contest: "Star Trek actors in non-Star Trek roles."

Aragorn

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
When I say "Star Trek actor," I don't mean Christian Slater's 30 seconds in Star Trek VI. There are the obvious series regulars like Shatner, Stewart, Brooks, Mulgrew, Bakula and now Pine. There are also the recurring actors like Combs, Armstrong, Masterson and Hertzler, as well as actors who have meaty roles in the movies like Alley, Lloyd, Plummer, McDowell, Cromwell and Bana. Basically someone where Trek played an important (or at least decent) part in his or her career.

And if the avatar is of a Trek actor in an EMBARRASSING role, all the better. :)

ABC simply couldn't handle this much badassery on a weekly basis, that's why they cancelled A Man Called Hawk. But they'll never admit that.

Pussies.

Here's an unusual one -- from the cover of a theater program for a 1990 performance of the play Paul Robeson with Avery Brooks in the title role:

The program was my father's, and I claimed it when he moved; luckily he rarely throws stuff away. The avatar is a photo of the program cover, since my scanner's dead. I'm surprised how well it turned out.

I thought about goin' with Paul Lewiston, from Boston Legal, but that show is already covered by Denny Crane.

And nobody beats Denny Crane.

^Is that De Kelley in character for some role? Given his apparent age, it looks more like a publicity photo; I'm not aware of any acting he did other than McCoy after ST ended. I thought this was about actors in non-ST roles, not just in everyday life.

Well, he did a lot of Westerns. In fact for years that what he was known for. Notice the hat. I'm not sure at the moment if it is a publicity photo, but he is clearly in his Western mode.

DeForrest Kelly and Nimoy both were known for roles in Westerns before Star Trek.
