I've not seen the episode very many times, but yes, it is very strange. I'm not sure if I like it either.

Best thing is, the clown is Lenny of Lenny and Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley.

Michael McKean remains to be my very first celeb crush. I adore him. And I adore Laverne and Shirley. He saves that episode for me lol.

Agreed they should have given Michael a better script though.
