Turkish Airlines flight crashes near Amsterdam Airport

9 people dead, the latest reports say.

However have you noticed that the most recent air accidents have had a more positive outcome than normally?

9 people would disagree...if they were still around.

Actually 9 people would agree...if they were still around.

I think the point is that too often you hear about nobody surviving in these cases, it's very fortunate that so many did and there's nothing wrong with recognising that ;)

Also, the New York commuter flight crash didn't have a good outcome.

There was another ditching in NY which did though. What I mean is people seem to be surviving more than usual.

The authorities have released the following information:
Of the nine people that died during the crash; five (including the three pilots) had the Turkish nationality, and the remaining four had the American nationality.
Of the rest of the passengers and crew 80 were injured, 25 seriously, and six of them are still in critical condition.

Also it has been confirmed that the plane had in fact not run out of fuel. Though a fault in the fuel systems is currently considered as a possible cause.
