Tuesday (6/2) Box Office - $1.3 million

It might not be too far-fetched for Star Trek to move ahead of Terminator if the latter's free-fall continues...

Yeah, if not mid-week, definitely this weekend.

Wow!

And you were initially highly skeptical IIRC... :)

I was skeptical of it staying over $1 million mid-week. I was pretty sure it would move ahead of Terminator. I think I said there was a small chance it could stay in 5th place this weekend, despite the opening of two big films.

I think The Hangover is going to be the sleeper hit this summer. It seems like a very funny movie and the early reviews (from the trade papers) have been very positive. Land of the Lost on the other hand I am not too sure. I haven't seen any early reviews which is not a good sign. It may open big and then fade away.

I agree. The Hangover should do really well. There hasn't been a good comedy in a while whereas Will Farrell movies are repetitive. The only review I've seen says the movie is Will Farrell being Will Farrell, which is getting really old.

Just messing with ya...it is going to be interesting to see what the new releases do to Trek this weekend... Maybe 10 million isn't out of the question?

That might be too optimistic. It really depends on how many theatres it loses.

My wife and I went last night to see the movie again. I am happy to keep trek going!

Just Fandango'd Century Theaters in our area... Trek still on one screen, 5 showings, same as Terminator. and A&D. Wolverine's gone.

Updated the first post with the final numbers:

$1,322,790

Trek is now #79 on the all-time domestic list.

Not too shabby... although A&D made 250 internationally... maybe Hanks in the sequel ... as William Shatner?

:p

Seriously... no cameo, an organic part of the script. I'm sure he'd do it given how much fawning he's done of late about Trek.

It would boost domestic and (especially) foreign totals, quite possibly.
