TSFS - Red Alert?

Hi All,

It's been years since my last post, however, just for the fun of it..

Any thoughts on why Kirk ordered a Red Alert on the approach to Genesis when they suspect a cloaked ship is lurking?

Of course, I understand the drama, however, with only the five of them aboard the Enterprise, anyone on the ship who needed to be notified of the emergency/threat etc, was already on the bridge!

The act of going to red alert would also put the ships systems into battle mode, automatically raising shields and priming defensive systems and the like.

Red Alert is supposed to activate all offensive and defensive systems. I would imagine bugs in the control software kept it from activating everything.

Exactly as you said the Drama to make sure us watching it got the danger just incase we missed it.
