I'm watching True Blood season 2 on demand. So Ensign Ro comes to town and she likes to see people getting jiggy with it. Everybody is screwing everybody in freaky porno orgies. Phlox is going to town on some bar chick. There are tits and ass everywhere. Some of the shots seemed a bit blurred on the edges, either for style or, more likely, to avoid being censored. Did anyone else see that episode? I'm only on episode 6, so don't spoil me beyond that.

HBO does have a limit. You won't see real porn. They only go so far and the scene was pretty outrageous. I'm guessing they have some sort of legal restrictions or they would show real porn. Most nudity is a somewhat restricted. Go back and watch when Tara and that black dude with the super abs are walking up on the freaky porno and on the right side, to the right side of the fire, the picture has some blur to it. Ensign Ro is vibrating, but there is some bluriness on the right side-unless my girlfriends tv is messed up. I didn't notice any other bluriness.

I didn't really care for the any of the characters. The story didn't grab me. I didn't like the look of the vampires and Bill is skanky looking.

Also HBO has no standards, they will show intercourse, Showtime is the one with limits. However I think HBO has standards when it comes to a TV series.

I don't have HBO so I can't check out True Blood anymore. But honestly, when I had it, I wasn't a real big fan of the show.

I've tried to watch it a couple of times, and enjoyed the Sookie Stackhouse book that I read. I wish the show had more of the sensibility of the opening credit sequence, which is fantastic. Unfortunately the show itself is way too campy for my tastes. It lost me round about episode three when Sookie shows up at Bill's house for the first time and three vamps come to the door posing and hissing, you know, 'cause they're eeeeeviiilllll!

It's actually a smarter show than that but it does get really weird from time to time. I find it strangely fascinating and I don't mind the sexual scenes (they bugged me in 'Rome') because they usually don't feel gratuitous.

From what I've seen, HBO definitely has some limits and they are on about the same plane as Showtime with what they'll allow.

Michelle Forbes guest starred on an episode? Was she one of the people nude? Being a big vampire fan in general I have been wanting to check out True Blood. Since my friend has season one I'll borrow it from her now that she's done watching it. I've heard nothing but good things about the show and that Anna Paquin is really good on it as well as really hot.
