Bill and Marnie prepare to face off; Sookie and Eric pledge their allegiance to the King; Jason is torn between friendship and passion; Lafayette becomes a spirit's pawn; Sam contends with another adversary.

Alright, so much juicy goodness in this one ... Poor Hoyt. The way that scene was dragged out, and then continued outside with Jason being ... well, Jason ... they actually had me going for a minute.

We finally get the shower scene, but it's way different than I had envisioned. And how hot does Eric look? Yum.

As others have said in weeks past, Tommy really is a little shit. Does he have any redeemable qualities now? If so, they aren't being shown. It's about time for him to go away now.

Finally, we get some connection between the Alcide storyline and the rest of the series. I'm about done with this Debbie character, though. She just needs to GO already.

What the heck did Marnie/witch do to Eric at the end of this episode? This isn't their usual cliffhanger ... Is he getting his memory back now?

I wasn't expecting the "war" this soon, but pretty cool nevertheless. Haven't seen a battle like that since The Fellowship was around. I totally thought Jessica went thru with it in that first scene with Hoyt. Tommy is indeed a little shit, but I think he's just become desperate at this point. I kind of figured Luna's ex would turn out to be the pack leader. Still wondering about Lafayette and his possession by the Creole ghost. This plot seems like it is the odd one out so I wonder how it will tie to the other story lines. And did Sookie get hit by a stray bullet?

What a great episode.. Had me hanging on throughout. However, I must have fallen dozed off for a second or got distracted.. Alcide told Debbie he'd stay away from Sookie, but then, seemingly out of no where, he shows up at her house... What did I miss that led him to seek her out? And did he really think Debbie wouldn't follow him? More to the point, wouldn't he have smelled her being so close behind him?

I'm glad we got some backstory about that doll.. i'm really interested to see how this plays out.

Yeah, it looks like it's not serial killer guy after all. Interesting.

I think Alcide went to see Sookie because he knew something big was going down between the vampires and witches. He just lied to Debbie from the start, that's all. I have no idea why he didn't smell her, unless he was just too focused on Sookie.

That was quite a cliffhanger. Sookie did indeed seem to be hit by a stray bullet, with neither Bill nor Eric available to save her. That little peace summit sure devolved into all-out war quickly.

As for Tommy, I'm surprised he's still around-- he really adds nothing and irritates me. I do hope Sam's girlfriend stays around, though. I have a feeling this is leading to Alcide killing psycho guy and taking over the pack; the conversation about him being an Alpha seems to be foreshadowing.

Still rooting for the witches. Yay for Tara blowing one away.

Sookie's a necrophiliac loon. Gun her down, I say.

At least Jason didn't kill the guard. Good for him kicking Jessica out on her ass. She can go live with King Bill.

The problem with the vampires as symbolic gays is that the series has gone out of its way to revel in their psychotic bloodlust. If vampires=gay (and in this show they do,) then gay=evil. Which is not what they meant. Which is bad writing. Happens in soaps.

Watching this show means I have zero taste.

I'd figure the gay people on this show = gays, not the vamps. The vamps would just be an entirely different group of citizens, right?

Green eye shadow works for Tommy, he should keep that look.

King Bill has the most incompetent snipers available. When Sookie said "she's casting a spell" that was trigger time.

I agree, and just think if Eric had decided to rip the heart out of the big bad instead of useless number 1, it would be over.
Even if Bill didn't want to kill her they should have had tasers standing buy.

That's not the case though here.

Vampires in this series are constantly being treated as a unified group, there's even a "Vampire Political movement" and the real mistake by many of the characters is trying to lump them all together as if they're all the same, and out for similar goals...

The point of any similarity is that all gay people are not a part some sort of unified "Gay" group. They're individuals that just happen to share a few things in common.

Just because some vampires are evil doesn't mean all vampires are evil.

It also doesn't mean they're NOT vicious predators however.

If you're a vampire, you're a vampire. It's a question of biology. Vampires are bloodsuckers, pretending otherwise is crazy.

BUT

They still have the ability to make choices and letting those choices define their actions and behavior makes more sense to me than just writing them all off as evil. (As so many in the show seem too.

The If Vampire=Gay, & Vampire=Evil, therefore Gay=Evil syllogism just doesn't hold water.

Jessica going to live with King Bill could be interesting - I'd like to see her making her mark in vampire society in spite of her "baby vamp" status. Her maker is a King (and an important vampire before that), and she's been involved with the local players all of her short vampire life. I was hoping that there'd be more to her arc this season.

And maybe now that Witchy has Done Something Else to Eric, there will be less of this...

Please God, let there be less of that.

^

Pretty good, though I thought the fight scene at the end was pretty laughable.

It seems obvious to me that Eric is "mind controlled" sort of like what she did to that vampire she used to break out of the cell. I believe it was the same gestures and everything.

The kittens should puke rainbows.

Good episode, except from Eric and Sookie stuff. I don't remember it being this wovey dovey in the book.

Granted I am a guy, but damn I remain impressed by how willing Anna Paquin is to get nekkid in this show... lol

That was a pretty decent fight for cable. Obviously the smoke/fog obscured things to make it easier and to have less 'quick vampire ninja moves' to show and save on effects. Still don't get why they wouldn't come with a little grenade launcher and just blow up all the witches in one neat little pack... Guess it would end the storyline too quickly ;)
