So, having watched it:

Sookie is a total derp. Getting freaky with Eric? Gross. Eric/Bill fight? Awesome.

Pam is silly for thinking Eric should take on Bill. Killing kings just works out so well, eh?

I love Bill's asshole streak. Much more interesting than his previous arcs.

Terry's reaction when he noticed the fire was fucking priceless. I would watch this show if it was all about Terry, really. And I guess Mikey can see ghosts or something.

Sam sassing Andy was good. And Andy's gonna go out with Wiccan girl, eh? She's kind of obnoxious.

"Goat tongue? For breakfast?" Lulz. Lafayette should probably be more grateful.

Tara's girlfriend is a terrible, terrible actress. I hope she becomes vampire food soon or otherwise dies for my amusement. :p

Sookie's got serious stones asking Jason to help her free Eric from Bill. Good lord. It was great when TommySam fired her, though. Haha. If only the real Sam would do that. He puts up with way too much from her.

I hope this Debbie/Alcide business is going somewhere. Seems totally disconnected from the other storylines so far.

Marnie: padding.

It was great watching Tara squirm when Jessica came to serve her.

TommySam getting Sam's girl? Oh dear.

Jess helping Jason through the whole werepanther thing was fun. And so I guess it turns out Crystal and the werecats were even dumber than previously believed. All that work to turn Jason and it don't amount to shit, and any kids he produced won't be actual werepanthers. Derp!

Bill is so predictable, turning Eric loose like that. And of course, followed by Eric/Sookie sex.

^ i think Alcide said the Were can be just from parent one parent that is a were. So Jason just needed to get them pregnant and maybe Crystal and her late boyfreind were somehow adding to extra were DNA to Jason?

Damn.. it was about time for True Blood to return to its old quality and we got it. Definitely the best episode this season so far and several key characters have clicked into place chief amongst them the possessed witch who now just radiates evil instead of being the clueless dolt from before :techman:

Amazing amount of quotable one liners too..

- "You are a Viking Vampire God and you bow to no one!"

- "I'm a sheriff and a werepanther. Back off!! (god.. Jason rules so hard! :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:)

Sadly i can't stand puppy Eric Northman.. i was near vomit last episode when he cuddled up to Sookie and i just can't stand him now. I want evil and sadistic Eric Northman again, dammit!

I really like Bill now.. i loved him while in relationship with Sooki but having only read the first novel i didn't know how it progressed. Weakling that i am i finally broke down and read the True Blood Wiki and discovered that they broke up so it came as no surprise when it happened in the show but now he's "free" of relationship constraints and can be asshole as well as gentleman and it suits him well.. additionally it is well played by Stephen Moyer unlike Stellan Skarsgaard who just can't sell amnesiac Eric Northman.

The rest of the storylines are kinda just there.. not too terribly interested in them but at times make for nice scenes.

Now please just hold this level of quality and make up for the bad season start.

I wish they'd dump the Tara, Lafayette, and Alcide storylines. None of them really seems all that interesting, and Alcide's seems especially pointless (seeming to not have anything to do with anything else doesn't help, either).

Sookie's definitely been whacked with the idiot stick one too many times, and while I found Amnesia-Eric amusing for a couple of episodes it's starting to wear thin now. He was a lot more fun when he had his memories. Bill seems to be going in the opposite direction this season, however; by Season Three I was growing very tired of his "Sookie this, Sookie that" shtick, but his becoming King of Louisiana has been nothing but good for him.

The Jason/Jessica scenes were great, though I hope it doesn't end up where I think it might end up. And I don't really find Tommy adorable at all. Every time he does something good he screws up again and does something even worse.

Bromance--Raelle Tucker. You wrote it magnificently on Supernatural. Where did it go tonight? What gives? Did Alan Ball put the kibosh on it? I don't see how Sam can forgive....well, you all know what he won't be able to forgive. Raelle, you authored this script. It was--however--the best script of the season in terms of flow and comic elements. It flowed very, very well.

Most scripted dramas are outlined by committee (the writing staff) after a writer pitches the primary idea of the episode/outline. Assuming the showrunner approves it (after the staff has taken the outline apart and then built it again together), the writer writes the script...which then goes through revisions per the studio and network notes.

It's entirely possible this was a case where what you wanted Raelle to write did get written at some point and was summarily vetoed by a higher power.

On topic: I liked the episode. I'll be interested to see what they do with Jessica and Jason. Bill is getting irritating. Not enough Pam. I wish they'd give Alcide something, you know, fun to do. There's clearly still some lusty attraction between he and Sookie. I'd love to see the Louisiana shitstorm it'd kick up if she got with him only to have Bill *and* Eric go apeshit over it.

^Yeah, I like Alcide. Pretty good guy and the actor has some great charisma. While I'm not as hateful towards Alexander Skarsgård (Stellan is his dad) as others, Eric's and Sookie's romance can just not end well. So, go Alcide I say.

And Deborah Ann Woll is just to damned cute/hot/charming. I love her. Jessica's and Jason's stuff was pretty great.

This was the best episode of the season so far.

So, Lafayette is possessed by a powerful witch and will probably battle Marnie. Dear Alan Ball, please make them throw fireballs at each other.

This was the first truly great episode of the season. The show plays so much better when you watch episodes back-to-back, thankfully.
