From Zap2It.com -

Sookie's captivity takes an unexpected turn; Sam makes a gruesome discovery at Merlotte's; Tara and Eggs eat a mysterious meal prepared by Maryann; Jason pays off his debt to the vampires.

Only four episodes to go after this. That also means the week after next, we'll be introduced to another relative of Sookie's ... Can't wait for that!

OMG what an episode! So much going on:

Bill socking Lorena with the flatscreen tv

Jason coming to his senses (well, as many senses that Jason has) and helping to resuce Sookie with Bill (and the man hug :guffaw:)

Godric was ultra cool and a big change in the character's motives from the books...but I like it!

Poor Jessica and the forever virgin :( that has to, pardon the pun, suck!

And Luke! Bill was outside so I guess he'll help some of the injured vamps!

And remind me never to eat anything that Maryanne makes

What a fantastic episode! :techman::techman::techman::techman:!

A bit anti-climatic, some previews had spoiled Sam getting arrested.

The Fellowship of the Sun gets off lightly (heh), but then there's the end zinger.

Sookie vs. Lorena! That was amusing.

Is Tarot real in their universe?

O. M. G. I have never laughed so hard as I did in this episode, in the scene where Jason confronts Reverend Asshat and tells him he's already been to heaven - inside the Rev's wife.

Eggs and Tara being turned into cannibals? Ewwww.

Poor Sammy in jail. The idea of him in prison just brings up so many possibilities. Which leads into ...

Bill and Jason as "more than friends" ... those two have chemistry. Now I kind of want to see those two hook up. ;)

Godric in the church, made no sense here. He was there and now there's no reason for it. Just some kind of light-hearted "let's all get along" thing. In the books, it's clear. He's old and wants to die. Here, they just glossed over it. Ah well, seeing Jason shoot the Rev in the head makes up for any glossing.

About the previews ... Nan is back. And not just on tv. Nan feels dangerous and powerful. She's not at all like she appears in interviews, and I'm loving it.

Now that would have made way more sense than what we got. The whole "pacifist vampire" thing was just silly.

Tiny nitpick: How could Eric go inside the church without being invited?

It's not someone's home. Just as he can go shopping at the mall (early in this season), he can go into any "house of worship" ... Now, if the Rev actually lived in that building, it'd be a different story.

I don't know. Noting that I've never read any of the books, I got the distinct impression that Godric did want to die and was letting them kill him. It wasn't until Sookie showed up in an attempt to rescue him, and then later Jason showing up to rescue everyone, that he intervened with events. I think it was those events coupled with seeing how "normal" the majority of the church was that gave him a new purpose... and he's just now seeing that purpose through. Or in other words, he was in a deep depression and everything that happened that night brought him an epiphany.

I am curious to learn why Sgt. Goon or whatever his name was thought saying "it's me, Godric" would save him. Maybe something alluding to Godric being responsible for the church? I dunno.

I'm finding it hard to care much about Maryanne right now. Everything she does seems so random and pointless. It was cool earlier in the season when it felt like there was something more sinister and dark going on underneath everything, but now she just seems to be wringing her hands and twirling her moustache as she forces everyone to commit sins (which is kind of pointless when they have little to no free will while doing so). "Mouhaha, I have made you unknowingly eat a human heart! Mouhaha, now I will make you have kinky sex! Mouhaha! I am evil! Mouhaha!"

I hope there's something more to her.

I loved the Sookie/Eric interaction on their escape attempt when
Sookie: “He's your maker isn't he?”
Eric: “Don't use words you don't understand.”
Sookie: “You have a lot of love for him.”
Eric: “Don't use words I don't understand.”

lolz, and while I do like the character of Godric I'm not really sure what is up with him because it did seem like the Goon knew him, maybe it's like someone else theorized based on how he was in the books(I wouldn't know having not read the books), but if he was seeking death perhaps he was extremely docile with the fellowship and they thought of him as a sinner seeking redemption through his death so when he broke out to help Sookie the goon was surprised.

Although I disagree with the whole pacifist vampire or vampire seeking something more being a bad angle. I think it makes sense. He's the oldest vampire we've been introduced to, he said he's older than Jesus so that's over 2,000 years old. That's a lot of time to be doing pretty much the same thing over and over to see all Vampires do are hunt and prey on humans day-in/day-out and that's all their existence is. Right now they're living among humans, but I don't see a vampire culture.

You have a race of immortal beings who if they put their work into actually cultivating a civilization being able to not worry about their own mortality and being able to continue to create art, science, whatever... They should be able to be at the forefront of that. Instead they just exist as parasites 'living' off the trappings of the civilization humans create. So I can understand having a vampire character who wants to see some kind of evolution within their race.

Well, the heart eating seemed to enhance her hold over them. Besides, kink for the sake of kink is her thing. She seems to feed off of it.

What I don''t get is Sam. How hard would it have been to say "The killer's name is Mary Anne. She looks exactly like Michelle Forbes, only sluttier. She's a Maenad, an immortal supernatural creature with hardcore mind control powers. She's been forcing people to engage in kinky sex orgies and human sacrifices since time immorial. She came her to get revenge because I rejected her years ago. I'm immune to her mind control because I'm a shapeshifter. Daphne was a shapeshifter, too, she was the pig that Andy saw. She worked for Mary Anne. The bull wasn't a bull, it was just a Marry Anne in a mask made out of a bull's head. And yes, she does have claws. Andy seems to be immune to Mary Anne's mind control, too, I don't know why. I strongly suggest that you issue a kill on sight order for Mary Anne right now, and get some rocket launchers because I'm not sure that bullets will actually hurt her. Call in the national guard if you have to. And quite frankly, the safest place for me is not jail, but several thousand feet in the air. Unless I get sucked into a jet engine, but you get the point. She can't fly, I can. There is no way that she can catch me out there. In here she can just mind control you into killing me. And don't ask me if I expect you to believe that. Vampires are real, Sookie can read minds. Yes I expect you to believe that. Look. See. I just turned into a dog. "

Sam just needs a roach or a mouse to turn into to escape jail.

And maybe a FREAKING LAWYER.

Is Lafayette immune to Maryanne...vamp blood in him? Tarot power? CHEESEBURGER WITH AIDS IMMUNITY? (it was hamburger with aids, but cheeseburger sounds funnier.)

How are they gonna do an autopsy on Daphne when their coroner is in jail for dicking a pine tree?

It's kind of messed up that no one believes Andy and he's been batting a thousand lately. I hope Eric survives, I'm really starting to like his character and I thought his conversation with Jason was pretty funny.

More to the point, WHY is Drunk Deputy Detective immune? 'Cause he's drunk?
