TRON reference in recent TrekLit

I could have sworn I saw the phrase "Reindeer flotilla" (Flynn's password from TRON) show up in either Cast No Shadow or Declassified.

Anybody recall where?

Cool. It was "Cast No Shadow." I read that part just the other day, but I didn't catch the TRON reference.

Wasn't it part of
the stuff Miller was telling Vaughn he had to remember right as he was dying? It was the mission password or something like that.

Good catch!

Greetings, program!:guffaw:

(And for the record, I'm still deeply disappointed with certain elements of the sequel, particularly the choice of Daft Punk instead of Wendy Carlos to score it, and the complete absence of Cindy Morgan's characters. It was good, but it could have been so much better, and it didn't even come close to the original.)

I thought Tron Legacy was awful whereas Tron was good.

Yeah, I noticed it. I enjoyed TRON Legacy. I'm still amazed they even made a sequel to TRON.

Did I miss it, or did Vaughn never mentioned anything about what was on the PADD or what that password unlocked?

I thought Daft Punk's score (which was actually a somewhat uncredited collaboration with Hans Zimmer) was tremendous! I've listened to that score over and over dozens of times and it still makes me grin ear-to-ear.

I caught the reference too and chuckled a little when I read it. :)

I had never seen TRON but as I rather fancied the sequel I made a point of watching it and it was, for its time, OK.

I LOVED Legacy however, and thought the soundtrack was utterly wonderful !
