TRILOGY..did it

How many of you watched the holy trilogy of Treks 2-3-4 this holiday season? We did, just this past saturday. My wife, a couple friends of the family, and kids, on my DLP 106 inch screen....and it was fun....

Hopefully, by next year, they will all be out on Blu ray and we can enjoy them in hidef....

But that is a holiday tradition for us...the Trilogy...any of you partake as well???

Our holiday tradition used to always be Xmas Story, Xmas Vacation and DieHard, but now we x-ed out DH in favor of ELF.

Trek just isn't a xmas thing to me at all ... it's more like tuesday night at the movies, just like British dramas and cold war thrillers are sunday afternooners.

Yeah, Trek isn't a Christmas thing for me either. I've got a long-ass list of Christmas/holiday movies I try to watch every year, so I leave Trek for the 10 non-holiday months.

24-hours of A Christmas Story on TBS for me and mine. Not necessarily watching it in one setting but checking back every few hours. By the end of the run, you'll have seen the whole movie.

In no way due to the Holidays, but I did watch the entire original set of films three times over the last month.

Most "Christmas" films suck anyways.

Elf is a cute Xmas movie, me and the fam usually watch it. Im not a huge fan of other xmas or holiday movies. The wife usually will watch one of the Harry Potter movies either on DVD or on TV (it always seems to be on during the holiday season)

I always try and watch "A Christmas Story", "Christmas Vacation", and "The Muppet Christmas Carol" around Christmas time every year!

I was in New York in early January 1991, and each night they were doing night shoots for "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York", around the big Christmas tree, etc. A year later, and the actual movie was out for Christmas.

The soundtrack has some excellent Christmassy music, so this movie, or at least the soundtrack, is a great Christmas treat for me.

I just watch the Yule Log. I record it so I can watch it over and over and over and over...

I watched these films over the last 3 days,i hadn't seen TWOK for several years and enjoyed it,i didn't think it would pass the test of time,i still enjoyed TVH.TSFS has got some good scenes but isn't as good as 2 and 4 imo.One nitpick about TWOK is that Kirk didn't put the shields up when the reliant was closing in,not even when reliant raised her shields.

Trek IV was released just before Christmas in its year. Hell, you can almost hear sleighbells in the title music.

Maybe . . . but nowadays, Xmas Season officially begins five minutes after Halloween . . . or maybe two weeks before it, I forget.

Actually, TVH was released on Nov. 26th, 1986, the day before Thanksgiving.

The weird thing I remember about TVH? Before it came out, and the trailers were in the theatres, I remember seeing the Trailer when I saw another movie...and the scene where the Klingon ship crushes the Trashcan? I remember my friend and I trying to figure out what the heck that was...because they show it as the can is amost crush, and since the klingon ship is invisible, you are left with know idea as to just what is going on there...

Thats my long ago memory of TVH...
