Trek's Most Evil: Feel Free to Make Your Own Amendments

Well, Kor did order the slaughter of all those peaceful, seemingly helpless Organian villagers.

Lenard's Romulan Commander -in my opinion- is an adversary, but not a villain. The writer of the article admits it, but includes him, anyway. On the other hand, it is difficult to sympathize with a military man who was "just following orders" to kill non-combatants.

I think the point of several TOS stories was to show that something evil was actually somewhat a sympathetic character, whether it was Gary Mitchell (the human whose Id got the better of him) or the Horta (A Mom just protecting her eggs).

I would substitute Dr. Soran or Lore for the Romulan Commander as more worthy, truly ruthless and "evil" villains.

Honorable Mention – Weyoun, Trelane, General Chang, Harry Mudd, the Female Changeling, Gul Damar, Mirror Universe Spock, and Brannon Braga.

:rommie:

Well one of those is unbeatable and MU Spock is hardly a villain, but Weyoun, Trelane, The Female Changeling and Damar should all make the short list for best Trek villain.

Well,

Harry Mudd is not evil just a buffoon  (misguided and a little incompetent). BTW, Sela is a hardly a villain, just a ridiculous character (actress too!) :vulcan:

But the B's (Berman/Braga) I dare say are Evil, cause they just don't care! :techman:

Kor only appeared to slaughter those villagers, as they were pure energy they just fooled the Klingon's

I don't think it matters they were only energy beings. Kor intended to slaughter people and the fact that he was unable to because of their true nature doesn't make his attempt any less evil.

How does hav-ng a un-que bac- story ma-e someone such a good/memorable v-lla-n?

M-ss-ng letters!!!!

I actually forgot what Kor was doing in his original episode as I haven't seen it for a while. I was thinking of one of the other Klingons.

Braga went on to produce a couple of seasons of 24, ten times the commercial success of Star Trek. In America. I'll get back to it later.
IMO, the evil of Star Trek is DS9, the red-headed stepchild of the franchise, the reactionary one. Religion-friendly, war-mongery, family values, and the end justifies the means like in everybody's favourite episode In the pale moonlight. Or in 24. I'm puzzled why Braga, and not Behr produced that.

I have my keys back... How does having an interesting back story make someone a good villain? That makes no sense.
