Lets say I bought every Star Trek book that ever was. I had them all dedicated to their own special shelf in my office. And then I asked you who you thought the best TREK author was...who would that be and what book would you direct me to?

Having not read all of the Trek books (less than 100 in fact -- and those within the last 8 years) my vote goes to David Mack. And I'd direct you to the Vanguard Series beginning with Harbinger.

That red glow you see on the horizon is not the sunset, nor is it the coming dawn. It is my deeply abashed blush at such an undeserved honorific. But thank you, LightningStorm, your support is greatly appreciated.

I would direct you to this thread (which is plainly visible on the front page of the TrekLit forum).

ETA: And before anyone argues that he is asking for THE greatest author and the other thread for the Top 5 authors, we all know that most people will list more than one author anyway, don't we?

I agree. There's already a thread covering this top, so I direct the discussion to that thread.

Now let's see if I remember how to close a thread...
