I thougth treknology would be a good title to this thread...
One thing I like about Trek, is all the technology on display, some way in the future, and some you may consider somewhat current. The question I had was reguarding a mathamatical formula I saw on trek. In the Voyager episode "The Good Shepard" in the mess hall, as usual Mortimer Herren is sitting by himself. Neelix, B'Elanna and Tom notice him and dare Tom to go and talk to Harren. Tom accepcts the dare and goes up to Harren, who is busy work on his Padd, when Tom asks what he is doing he shows Tom the padd and asks Tom what he thinks, the padd is full of letters, symbols and numbers. I was never good in math, espically the kind that has letters, symbols and numbers, I'm not in such bad company though even Mr Paris said when he was questioned by Herren what he thought he replyed "Like the creative use of the minus sign", so my question to the more math inclined is if you recall the padd, was the math displayed part of a current and valid mathematical formula or was it just Treknobabble
