Trekmovie does it again! Early Entertainment Tonight footage

Oh man that was sweet to see again!
There were some dormant brain cells reawakened by that. I remember that was on in Winnipeg on Monday July 20th 1987, when I was 12. I'm sure I watched it on tape about 10 times the first day and at least 3 times every day until early September.
I forgot about that logo they used (it seems like only there on ET and maybe on the Star Trek Fan Club Magazine) that was like an updated original series logo.

I remember it well. I was about 11 years-old when the two-hour movie aired; I recorded it and every episode after for seven years. I still recall the blurb at the back of an issue of Starlog, after TVH came out, that Paramount was considering a new ST series. My mind raced with all the possible scenarios; was it going to have Kirk, Spock and McCoy? Would Saavik return? Same ship, different crew?

Then, David Gerrold's column on the production of the new show came out generating even more excitement. The ET pieces giving us a glimpse at TNG. I remember watching those and loving the sets, the uniforms and the cast. Good times to be a trekkie.

He meant 24, Hour-Long Episodes. It was the 80's, everyone was on some kind of crack.

I was a few months shy of turning 20. I missed the ET segment back then though.

I was in my 30's with one kid and another one on the way. So movies were kind of out of my life. A weekly Star Trek series on TV was just what I was hoping for.

I was 15 when that came out. The coolest thing is that John Tesh is a Trekkie and later appeared as a Klingon in an episode.
