Ok since ZR's thread is buried somewhere here in Misc...time for a new one. :) Simply post your dreams and others may comment on them if they wish. :)

I will start...

I had a dream today that I was out getting candy and lottery tickets...I got a text message on my cell phone to buy Jolly Ranchers & M&M's...the message was from Aragorn!? Anyway I pick up the candy and go to the counter and get my ticket...for some reason I found out I instantly won $7.

There, now your turn. :bolian:

^ Mmmmm... candy.

Last night I had my reoccurring dream about food shopping. At least three times a month I will find myself in a grocery store pushing a large shopping cart and filling it with food. Nothing else happens and it is all very mundane. To put it bluntly it is just boring really. I also have no idea why I dream it either.

Oh and one more thing. If I am in a relationship, I am usually shopping with my SO. We never talk and they never put anything in the cart. They are just... there... walking up and down the aisles with me.

^ Really? If you don't mind me asking, what are the themes?

As for myself, I actually have three reoccurring dreams: the food shopping dream, the one where I get lost in a gigantic house I have never been in, and the tidal wave dream. Two of them I have had since I was a child.

The tidal wave dream is more of a nightmare though. We used to live on the beach when I was a kid and I saw "The Poseidon Adventure" just one to many times when I was nine years old. But as an adult I do not drown in the wave anymore, thank goodness. I usually stop the dream before the gigantic wall of water hits the beach.

I do have a reoccurring fourth dream but I do not like to talk about it. I have had it at least once a year since I was five years old. It involves this tall bone-thin pale goat man thing with red eyes chasing me through one of the homes we lived in as a child. It always corners me in the laundry room hiding from it in the hamper. And right before I wake up terrified it starts ripping my skin off. No matter how hard I try I can not seem to change the dream or confront this thing. Unlike all my other dreams, I have no control whatsoever. I have chills just writing about the damn thing.

Does anyone here ever have that dream where your standing on top of a pyramid in sun god-like robes and nude women are throwing little pickles at you?

But seriously, I actually have dreams that reference previous dreams. Once had one where I went through officer's training in the Navy. A couple months later I dreamed I was assigned to an Airforce mission and thought it was strange that they would send a Naval officer to do the job.:wtf: (no, I have never served in the armed forces)

On the disturbing dreams front, I had a dream last year that was very meta in that demons were slowly pulling my entrails out as they told me I was dreaming but would not be allowed to wake up. When I finally did wake up I decided to stay up the rest of the night as I have also frequently continued dreams when going back to sleep and had no wish to continue this one.

Talking disturbing dreams, I've had a few. One, when I was 5 or so, involved one of my grandpa's uncles, stick thin, falling down the stairs of my great-grandpa's house, breaking into pieces. Someone, maybe me, picked up his head and he was still alive, moaning.

Another happened 6 or so years back. Waking world, I had recently watched some footage about North Korea and the starvation happening there. Dreamland, I was walking about, and somehow I'm addressing, holding my the head, a little girl nonchalantly talking about food. All the girl is is a head, shoulders, exposed spine and a few ribs.

A recurring dream lately is the cows getting out of the field onto the road though a gate that is left open.

I have a recurring theme of over-the-top bathrooms popping up in my dreams. I have dreamed about bathrooms with huge oddly-shaped tubs and fireplaces, as well as bathrooms popping up in odd places. The other night, I dreamed that I was staying at a friend's apartment. I went into the bathroom and found a door leading to a second bathroom inside the first one. The second seemed a lot larger and had all high-end fixtures and finishes, topped off with a cheap-looking acrylic tub surround that didn't match.

Last night, I dreamed that I was on vacation and staying at a fancy villa. I was told to check out several different rooms to see which one I wanted to stay in. One of the bedrooms was actually smaller than the attached bathroom. Another had a bathroom with stainless steel stalls, and I couldn't figure out why this private guestroom was attached to a public bathroom, even if it was all spotless and gleaming.

I sometimes have reoccuring dreams.

Last night I had one dream where I had an exam with my grandparents. But we had to revise quickly at one of my grandad's friend's house. Then my grandma lost her pen and she wanted to go back to our house to get it but I didn't let her because we were running out of time.

We walked to the exam hall, I was trying to hurry them up but because they're old they walked slowly. Managed to make it just in time though. Sat down and did the exam. That's about all I remember from that.

Then I dreamt that I Was playing poker with my friends, and I got knocked out in the first hand. So I re-bought and straight away lost it all again. So I left and on my way home I saw this woman looking a bit nervous like she was being stalked.

It turned out to be Isla Fisher and I think we started kissing a bit and she was telling me how this guy was after her so we were hiding from him. Then I thought she was going to die, so I took her in this alley and then we saw this guy coming after us so I pushed her to hide her but she fell down this shaft and died. So in the end I was the one responsible for her death. And it was in the papers the next day and I had to hide myself from the police who were there, and they actually caught the stalker guy and charged him with the murder.

I had a dream last night that Chevy Chase was being a dick to my best friend.

What the hell?!?

When my daughter was first born I had a dream that I left her unattended on the kitchen table while I turned around to get something out of the cabinet. She fell off the table and the impact on the floor caused her head to pop off. Her little spinal cord was hanging out of her neck. Wailing, I cradled her body and her head in my lap. She looked up at me worried and trying to cry but unable. *shudder*

Then I thought she was going to die, so I took her in this alley

...in a manly fashion?

:rommie::rommie::rommie:

Have you been seeing that Chase credit card commercial on tv (it has Chevy chase in it) ? Maybe that is what implanted Chevy Chase into your subconscious?

One that has come up a few times is dialing 911 for help and either getting no answer or a busy signal. That one happened most often when I was a child and teenager, and the symbolism (if you believe in that sort of thing) is pretty obvious: the people who should have been there for me weren't. Also, the fact that it happened to me in real life played a part, I'm sure! Though the action of calling for help happened several times, I wouldn't call it a recurring dream, as the rest of the dreams, and even the experiences on the phone, were always quite different.

Another I used to have as a kid a lot was a wild animal or animals getting into the house and chasing and/or goring my family. When I was ten the animals were, of course, replaced by dinosaurs after I saw Jurassic Park in the theater!

The others I'd rather not talk about because they tend to be reinterpretations of bad memories.

I actually only rarely have nightmares, though. Usually my dreams are too bizarre to illicit fear. I do experience really stunning visual imagery in my dreams.

Oh! The perfect thread! I just had this dream and I thought, "Wow. I should totally post that on TBBS."

I was flying a pedal-powered personal ornithopter. Yes, an ornithopter. It went FLAP FLAP FLAP! and I zoomed all over the sky. Very cool!

But then it ran out of gas (not sure how that can happen, since I was pedaling hard to keep it flying) and I had to stop and refuel. At a grocery store. By filling a little converter-thing in the engine with ... cheddar cheese.

Yup, cheddar cheese. So my subconscious has apparently invented a pedal-powered personal ornithopter that is fueled by cheese. Do you think I can patent it?

Reminds me of another dream I had.

I'm in a square, green field, forest a quarter mile away on opposite sides, path the same distance to one side, ocean opposite the path. Couple of miles away, a cliff face footed by more woods. Stone giants walk and converse on a ledge on the cliff. I shout to them and they dissapear, becoming part of the cliff. Suddenly, all blackness, with myself still illuminated. at the same instant, pinpoint streaks of color whip through the grass as the wind blows and a piano plays. The scene the cuts to something else.

Did you recently watch "Wallace & Gromit"? :rommie: It sounds like something Wallace would invent.
It does, doesn't it? I haven't watched it in years, though ... no idea why this suddenly came up.

My usual dreams are the most awful mundane anxiety dreams ... the car has broken down, or run out of gas; I'm late to an appointment; I can't seem to dial the number that I'm desperately trying to reach; I can't find my keys; I'm onstage in a play and I can't remember my lines; my kitchen sink is flooding; my kids are throwing a wild party and my house is full of drunken teenagers; etc. etc. etc.

I always wake up from them thoroughly annoyed and already in a bad mood! It drives me nuts. The worst part is when I can't remember if the dream was real or not - I'll have a sudden panic attack that the car needs gas when in fact I filled it recently. :vulcan:

I got similar sensations as a kid any time I heard an alarm clock go off. Dreamland and school were happier places than home, so an alarm meant an end to happy times. I half expected a momentary blackness before waking up in my bed when I hear an alarm. It's less and less now, but still.

Some of my dreams involve surfing the Internet. The content of said webpages seems to be always in a state of flux.

Since I recently got back from Vegas, I haven't had any recurring dreams about going there or traveling to some other distant place. Occasionally, I still have dreams about the old house where I grew up in another country (along with the pig pen in the back of the house); living in a large house with many rooms and several bathrooms with no drapes/curtains to cover up the windows; working out at a gym and using the dingy shower area in the men's room.

I have similar dreams where I'm trying to dial 911 but something prevents the call from going through. Either the phone doesn't work, or I can't read the numbers, and I start to panic.

Another similar dream is where something happens and I know I need to call my boss to let her that I'll be late for work... but I can't remember the phone number or understand how my cell phone works. I did notice that those dreams went away when I stopped working for such a harsh employer.
