Trek XI Video Game??

Will there be a Trek (2009) video game to accompany the film? If so would it be Activision to make it, I know they had issues in the past with Trek games.

If a game based on the new movie does get made, it certainly won't be by Activision. They haven't owned the Star Trek license for 5 years.

I seem to recall that the last one they did was the Voyager: Elite Force game. (I definitely remember the ad for that being a browser-killer when it was at the top of every page here. )

Indeed, Activision doesn't have the publishing license now. That belongs to Bethesda Softworks. They haven't made a Trek game themselves yet, but they've published some games that are generally accepted as a tad sub-par - Legacy (PC/360), Encounters (PS2), Tactical Assault (DS/PSP) and Conquest (PS2/Wii). There is no word on any Trek XI tie-in game, and this late in the game, we should've heard something. I doubt we'll see a game this time around

^I have a review of Tactical Assault in the game forum and have played it quite a bit more since then and I love it.

So personally having a Trek XI game on my DS would be great for me.

As of February of this year, apparently there were no talks of a video game as there wouldn't be enough time to get it out in time of the movie. This seemed to be mostly due to the preparation work involved. However, things could have changed since then.

This doesn't usually seem to dissuade game publishers from rushing something out the door.

I really liked Tactical Assault too! I just wish it had online multiplayer.

Yeah it could have been a little better but I started out gaming in Trek with the likes of Starfleet Academy and Starfleet Command so having an upgraded and portable version was cool.

I liked Tactical Assault alot, it played like a handheld Starfleet Command game.

Legacy I play on my 360 and love. It could have been a bit smoother but
overall it rocks.

If it ever came out on PS3 I would get it in a heartbeat, but, at this point I would be getting a 360 just to play Legacy... not happening.
