Makes as much sense as anything.
Well, that's certainly the burning question in the general public's mind so, yes, I'm sure Abrams will address it.
And even if it were, the film would have to retell the whole arc. That just doesn't make sense for a movie that's supposed to be a reboot.
Save the "Spock is Future Guy" reveal for a novel or if Trek ever comes back to TV. Right now there are bigger issues. (There should be nothing referencing TNG, DS9 or VOY either).

That scene must be in the movie. Or I'm boycotting it.
In fact, every single loose end from Star Trek history needs to be tied up in this movie. I'm especially looking forward to the scene where Roger Corby meets Christine Chapel.
Finally, we will see it on the big screen.
What's funny is that, if the AICN rumor is correct, Abrams people have come up with a virtually identical concept to "Enterprise" for getting Nimoy into the movie.

Well, it's certainly the only reason I intend to go see the new movie. And if Future Guy turns out not to be Spock, then I'm going to declare this movie non-canon. I expect everyone else to do the same.

yeah i thought about that too.
one reason i am skeptical about the rumor.
but if you want a crazy answer to the opening post it would be mirror spock rather then real spock that was setting the events in motion to destroy kirk.
especially if it was mirror spock after the time he took control and things were falling apart .
