Trek XI sequel

I think it's time to start speculating about the sequel to Trek XI. Should they remake a TOS episode? If so, which one?

What stories are left in Star Trek land? Klingons/Time Travel/Romulans/Big-Mystery-Alien-Ship-Headed-For-Earth-Can-Only-Appease-It-With-Creator-Roykirk-Humpback-Vger-Sex-With-Borg-Queen... it all seems passé now. What's next?

They should do a First Contact, but with the Doomsday Machine instead of the Borg.

I think they should find a good Trek novel and make a movie out of that.Or a series of movies.

I think they should go with some totally original and do so something from that assuming there is a sequel (which I doubt, since I'm betting this'll bomb).

I always liked Invasion : First Strike and The Rift, both very good candidates.

I always thought a big screen version of "Profit and Lace" adapted for the TOS crew would be a big hit.

Nothing says mainstream appeal like these three words: "Spock the tranny."

I think it's time to start speculating about the sequel to Trek XI.

And I think that speculations about a sequel are more properly posted in the Future of Trek forum, which exists for the primary purpose of containing that sort of discussion. You are welcome to repost this topic there, but we've already got lots to do with this movie going on here.
