Trek Viewing Over The Next Three Weeks?

I'm watching various things here and there. Not specifically to "prepare" for the new movie...

The last few days I've watched Wrath of Khan, TNG Measure of a man, TNG All good things, TOS Corbomite Maneuver, TOS Space Seed, TOS City on the edge of forever, TOS Operation Anihilate, DS9 the Visitor, DS9 In the pale moonlight...

I got out my 1980's issues of TOS on VHS (the ones that were in a 5-volume set, 2 eps per tape) for a retro kick (plus, those were the first eps of Star Trek I ever saw), and I'll be watching the remastered version of The Cage when it airs (I have the original version on DVD, but since they're showing it to coincide with the movie, and I haven't seen it remastered, it will be very cool!)

I've been rewatching all ten films and I'm currently up to Generations. Some friends who've only seen a few of the movies, or just bits and pieces, have used it as an opportunity to catch up so I've had plenty of company in my little marathon!

I also added Galaxy Quest as an honorary Trek film. ;)

I have re-watched TMP last week. As much as it is flawed (IMHO) with the less-than-exciting storyline, it does have magnificent effects and a flawless score. I plan to watch the remaining movies over the next few days (and maybe some TOS) to get psyched up.

I include Master and Commander.

I am focusing on watching key TOS eps, with an overall Trek StarFleet Academy/character origin theme.
Have watched TOS 'Court Martial', "Operation--Annihilate',TAS 'Counter-Clock Incident', 'Albatross', TNG 'First Duty', DS9 'Way of the Warrior', ENT 'First Flight'.
It is nice to have some sense of urgency to re-watch key episodes in preparation to the big May 8th D-Day.

At least you can see it throbbing hard as it struggles, the poor TOS engine room had no signs the ship was doing anything :)

I just watched the episode City on the Edge of Forever (TOS-R), and I plan on watching The Cage from the Season 3 TOS-R boxset the night before I see Star Trek XI.

I was tempted to bring out a few DVDs, but I suspect this film will be so different that it won't do any good to watch them.

I had that thought too and truthfully if it was just me I would probably not choose my viewing in expectation of the film. I am steeped in TOS so it's hardly necessary. But I am indoctrinating a 12 year old who has seen all of VOY and ENT and is very very enthused about the TOS he has seen (isn't that great? there is hope!). So we watch TOS to, hopefully, appreciate the film more. To quote Phlox, "OPTIMISM!"

I'm so pleased to hear that about the 12yr old!! I'm telling you the younger generation can appreciate TOS et.al... I think the key is doing it when they are the right age...also easing them in with at TAS or two doesn't hurt.

Watched Nemesis tonight. It is the first time that I have watched the film through in a couple of years. I watched it because I wanted to compare the most recent movie to what we are about to see.
