Trek Soundtrack Collections

USS KG5

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone else has collected many Trek soundtracks on CD/Vinyl/Tape etc - I have a collection of CDs I have been building up over the years and although some soundtracks I am very fond of (Like Horner's for TSFS) I have only acquired in MP3 form I have the following on CD: -

TMP - with a bonus disc "Inside Star Trek"
TWOK, TFF, TUC, GEN, FC, INS, NEM - all standard releases
The Best Of Star Trek Volumes 1, 2 & 30th Anniversary
A boxset called the "Original Star Trek Box" with three CDs of the TOS episodes soundtracks.
TNG volumes 1-4
DS9, VGR and ENT pilot soundtrack CDs.

What does everyone else have, and can anyone point me in the direction of good sources of other CDs I might be missing?

Star Trek: The Astral Symphony
The Best of Star Trek: 30th Anniversary
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
Star Trek Generations
Star Trek: First Contact
Star Trek: Insurrection
Star Trek: Voyager - Caretaker

My partner found all of the star trek soundtracks in the bargain bin at whsmiths, which is something i find quite depressing.

The only one I ever had was a 30th anniversary TOS cassette, with tracks from the episodes. I've never collected anything beyond that because, in general, I find movie soundtracks rather boring.

I've got First Contact, Insurection, and a 30th anniversary (?) compilation CD with the themes from every series, and selected music from episodes...

I have all the TOS episode CDs (I'm pretty sure I got them all), the movie CDs for TMP, TWok and ST:VI, and the Best of Both Worlds disc for TNG.

The rest, I didn't care for enough to buy.

captaincubbio, I'm not too sure about this links (they appear to be offering mp3 downloads which might get the board in trouble legally). I've removed the links. If there's a reason why they should be restored, let me know.

Nice site. Do you keep track of promo and bootleg releases at all? I've come across references to, among other things, what I guess are promo releases from Enterprise composers for a couple of episodes.

I have no interest in bootlegs, and promos aren't available by any easy or legal means, so I see no point in listing them.

I own the soundtracks to the Enterprise episodes "Canamar" and "Horizon," but I would not list them as I don't want to tease fans with music they can't get, nor do I want a mailbox full of requests to make copies of them. (Both soundtracks were sent to me direct from the composers).

I used to (well actually I still do in a box somewhere at my parents) have many soundtracks on vinyl LP.

But presently on CD I have:
- The TOS sound f/x
- "The Cage" and "Where No Man Has Gone Before" soundtrack
- "Shoreleave" and "The naked Time" soundtrack
- "The Doomsday Machine" and "Amok Time" sountrack
- The Varese Saraband Volume One recordings of music from "The Corbomite Maneuver," Mudd's Women" and "Charlie X"
- ST-TMP soundtrack
- TFF soundtrack

I wouldn't mind getting TWoK soundtrack as well as the Varese Saraband Volume Two recordings.

I do wish there were more TOS soundtracks available because there is a lot more music from the series.

I have the CD releases of the ten movies, copies I burned of the four TNG TV soundtracks, and the album Symphonic Star Trek, a 1995 release by Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops.

I have no interest in bootlegs, and promos aren't available by any easy or legal means, so I see no point in listing them.

I understand, but as someone who's seen references to some promo CDs and the expanded movie soundtrack bootlegs on various blogs, I'd appreciate a soundtrack website that explains what the heck they are and where they came from.
